Chess (Grades 1-4) Schoolhouse Chess offers three levels of progressive curriculum from beginner to intermediate and then advanced. Our instructional program is designed to build chess skills from beginner through advanced. The curriculum is sequential, building on the skills learned the previous week. We send each child home with a free chess set to keep and practice with at home. This is a perfect opportunity for students who aspire to be in a chess club and need to do the skill building to prepare. Skills taught include game notation and strategy. Each chess class is one hour in length and includes demonstrations and hands-on game time. There is a take-home activity sheet associated with each lesson presented.Instructor: Schoolhouse Chess
