The Jagiellonian University is the oldestuniversity in Poland and one of the oldest inEurope. The Jagiellonian University is a friendly place for foreign students!Francesco Gubinelli from Italy, a graduate of the JU Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysicsand Biotechnology, won the Interstudent 2015 as the most popular student in Poland. I studied my bachelor's degree in Rome – three years of study in applied psychology. But duringthe second year I went on Erasmus and after coming back I didn't feel really comfortable tostudy in Italy, so I decided to continue my bachelor studies in Poland within the framework ofanother programme, Freemover (it's like Erasmus, but without getting money). Here I felt a lotmore comfortable with this kind of life, this kind of approach to study. For example, you haveclasses, lectures and practical training, while in Italy it's just lectures. You simply attend a classand listen to a professor – there is no interaction. The Jagiellonian University is a friendly placefor foreign students. And wherever you go, to any office, they speak English. So that is not sucha huge barrier to communicate with other people. It is all very wellorganised. Of course, thereis also Kraków and many different activities it offers. I also like the atmosphere and the peoplehere. You can feel the international atmosphere in this city better than in Rome, even thoughthere are a lot of tourists there. That is what I love.
