Vaccines May Cause...• Pain, redness or swelling at the injection site. • Lump at injection site may last many weeks/months
and requires no treatment. • Mild fever, irritability, crying or extra sleepiness
in babies. • Fainting in older children and adults
Action to take should common side effects occur: If there is a fever, give extra fluids to drink and do not overdress. Paracetamol can be given if fever or pain is present (check label for correct use). Severe side effects are very rare. If reactions are severe and/or persistent, or you are worried about your child, contact your doctor or hospital.

Wyndham City’s Immunisation ProgramImmunisation is vital to the health of our community. Wyndham City’s Immunisation Unit provides public immunisation sessions to vaccinate people against a range of diseases. The National Immunisation Program provides free vaccines for babies through to people aged 65, while Wyndham City also provides other vaccines not funded by government including the flu vaccine.
Immunisation Sessions• Bring your baby/child to a session in clothes that can be
easily removed to access the appropriate limbs. • Please provide Medicare number to administrative staff
on your first visit as immunisation history is provided to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register via your Medicare number.
• Prior to immunisation taking place, staff will run through the ‘pre-vaccination check list’ to determine the best immunisation schedule for you or your child.
• After vaccination is complete you will be asked to wait in the centre for 15 minutes to ensure there are no delayed adverse reactions before leaving.
