Our school has implemented new scholarship programs that reward the hard work and achievements of the eligible candidates. Entrance scholarships are applied once, toward the fi rst semester of enrollment. Each applicant is only eligible for one academic entrance scholarship.

*These GPA scores are based on a 4.0 scale. GPA’s are open to evaluati on by our admissions committ ee. Entrance scholarships are only available to students studying at the Aruba campus.

Previous military service enti tles students to access their GI Bill benefi ts. The amount received will be categorized as “full ti me.”
Each individual must submit an applicati onfor educati on benefi ts to the VA so they may determine eligibility to receive these benefi ts. The applicati on forms can be downloaded from their website at:

Xavier University School of Medicine realizes that there is more to a student than academics alone. This led us to create new scholarship programs that recognize accomplishments outside of the classroom. The criteria for the scholarships are as follows:

Students transferring from another medical school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 can qualify for a $1,000.00 USD scholarship (applied once towards your fi rst semester’s tuiti on).

XUSOM off ers ongoing scholarships based on academic merit for students in our Pre-Med, Basic Science and Nursing Programs. The awarded amount will be determined by the previous semester’s GPA. In order to be eligible for these scholarships, the student must meet one of the following criteria:

We are always looking for ways to reward our students. Each semester, the top one or two will be recognized for outstanding academic performance. In additi on, we will look at their overall parti cipati on in school acti viti es such as the SGA (Student Government Associati on), Academic Enhancement Program, FMIG (Family Medicine Interest Group), and community service. These deserving students will receive $1,750 off of their next semester’s tuiti on.
Chancellor’s Scholarships
The United States Medical Licensure Examinati on (USMLE) is a mandatory test that allows you to practi ce medicine in the United States. It assesses a doctor’s ability to apply import-ant medical knowledge while maintaining safe and eff ecti ve pati ent care. We understand the importance of the USMLE Step 1 exam, and wish to reward those who excel at this criti cal step in their medical careers.
Clinical Science Scholarship
USMLE Step 1 Score Scholarship Amount 200 – 220 $500.00 USD per 12 weeks of rotati ons 221 – 230 $600.00 USD per 12 weeks of rotati ons 231 – 245 $750.00 USD per 12 weeks of rotati ons 246 and above $1,000.00 USD per 12 weeks of rotati ons
Students are eligible for an ongoing scholarship based on their fi rst att empt of the USMLE Step 1. This scholarship will be applied to each required clinical science semester. Each clinical semester runs for 12 weeks. To receive the scholarship, the student must meet one of the following criteria:

Richland State Bank Student LoanEligible Students: To be eligible for this program, the applicant must be a U.S. citi zen or permanent resident. Current or new students must be a part of the MD (Basic Science) Program or the BSN (Nursing) Program. Current students must be in good academic and fi nancial standing with XUSOM in order to be considered eligible. New students must have a lett er of accep-tance from XUSOM as well as a fully paid seat deposit. Internati onal students in the Basic Science or Nursing programs are eligible with a U.S. Cosigner. Students must reapply each semester for the loan.
