Quality

Overview

YB-O series prefabricated secondary substation is designed in accordance with IEC62271-202 standards, which includes a distribution transformer, medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgear, connections and associated equipment in a compact unit. The YB-O is designed keeping in mind high levels of personal safety and aesthetics as they are often located in highly dense and urban centers.

All components are housed in an enclosure, which protects the equipment against environmental hazards and unauthorized access. The enclosure is typically divided into three sections or compartments - medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgear and distribution transformer.

The standard degree of protection of YB-O is IP33D, which is in accordance with IEC 60529 standards.

This YB-O can be operated in harsh environments ● Ambient temperature: -25◦C~+45◦C (extreme low up to -40◦C) ● Relative humidity: monthly average ≤ 90%, daily average ≤95% ● Altitude: ≤2000 m ● Seismic intensity: 8 degrees

YB-O is manufactured in accordance with HeZong's stringent quality and environmental (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001) standards.

Personnel safetyAll live parts in the YB-O range are protected against unintentional contact by means of lockable doors. Cable connections and fuses in the medium voltage compartment are also protected against unintentional contact. Anti-contact protection is tested in accordance with IEC62271-202. Clinched or screwed connections form electrical connections with all of the station's metal parts. The channel steel frame is bolted to the structure. The result is a fully earthed enclosure, providing a high level of personnel safety.

ProtectionThe substation is often exposed to moisture, condensation and dirt. In coastal locations, sea salt in the air which is in contact with the surface of open, insulated surfaces can cause leaking current, which can result in a flashover. Accordingly, the YB-O is designed and fabricated using material and equipment capable of withstanding harsh climatic and operational conditions.

YB-O Series Medium voltage switchgear

TPS6 series SF6 insulated switchgear is a completely sealed system with a stainless steel tank containing all working parts and switching functions. A sealed stainless steel tank with stable atmospheric conditions ensures reliability and safety of not only the equipment and personnel handling the equipment but also for the environment.

Transformer protectionTPS6 offers a choice between a load break switch-fuse combination or vacuum circuit breaker in combination with relay for transformer protection. The load break switch-fuse combination offers optimal protection against short circuit currents, while the circuit-breaker with relay offers better protection against low over-currents. Circuit-breaker with relay is always recommended for higher rated transformers.

Fuse-links selectionTPS6 fuses are designed and tested according to IEC 60282-1. While inserting the fuse into the canister, the striker-pin must always face outwards against the fuse holder.

The dimensions of the fuse-links can also be in accordance with DIN 43625 and the length of the fuse canister is based on the use of fuse-links with a length of 292 mm(12kV) or 442 mm(24kV) or 537mm(40.5kV).

TPS6 provides two standard protection relays for circuit breaker

ST260E Self powered relayST260E is a CT powered numerical feeder protection relay, designed for the protection of utility and industrial power systems, where auxiliary power is not available or cannot be guaranteed.

ST280G advanced relayST280G is a comprehensive feeder relay for protection and measuring.

Low voltage switchgear

HDG and HGJ ● HDG and HGJ series low voltage switchgear are designed by HeZong for YB-

O. They are fixed type with modular design ● HDG is used for main incoming and feeder panels, HGJ is used for capacitor

panel ● All live parts including MCCB are mounted inside the switchgear and

instruments on the front door, the door can be opened by a special key only ● Operating from outside possible

MNS ● MNS Low voltage switchgears can be used for YB-O as LV part. They are of

the withdrawal type with a maximum of 9 feeders in one panel ● The busbar is on top of the switchgear; all live parts are mounted inside and

operated from outside ● Circuit breaker can be moved out only in open position ● Modular design provides good interchangeability

Panel mounted type ● The panel mounted type is an economic solution for low voltage part for

YB-O which is without LV enclosure and with all live parts mounted in LV compartment directly and sealed by the YB-O's door

YB-O Series Transformer

The YB-O can be supplied with a pre-installed transformer. Two types of transformers can be supplied; Oil-immersed transformer and dry type transformer.

There are three types of oil-immersed and two types of dry type transformers that can be used in YB-O.

A IP33D enclosure is used for YB-O.

The materials that can be selected could be of stainless steel, cold-rolled steel plate, galvanized aluminum zinc plate or GRC.

The color can be selected from a choice of military green(RAL6005) or ice grey(RAL7032).

Features: ● Compact structure, small floor area, convenient transportation, simple to

operate ● Maze composite structure of the door make sure good ventilation and

heat dispersion ● The frame is made by channel steel and angle iron, to ensure the structure is firm ● Double-decker roof provides good heat insulation and heat preservation ● Automatic lighting device with the opening door ● All doors open outward and over than 90 degree with limiting stopper ● The door handle is covered and lockable

YB-O Series Distribution Automation Terminal

HZD300 series ● HZD300 series integration distr ibution automation terminal is

manufactured by HeZong ● HZD300 series distribution automation terminal provides voltage and

current measurement, digital input and output, communication port and standard protocol

● HZD300 can be used for both MV and LV switchgears

EM600 series ● EM600 series can be mounted on each module's LV panel and used as a

feeder terminal unit ● EM600 series distribution automation terminal provides voltage and

current measurement, digital input and output, communication port and standard protocol

Distribution transformer supervisory terminal unit (TTU) ● A TTU can be used for transformer real-time monitoring with P, Q, S,

power factor, frequency. Calculate distortion ratio of current harmonic ● A TTU can also provide communication function

Optional automated devices

Fault indicator ● The short-circuit and earth fault indicator is designed for distribution

network. The instrument is provided with three short-c i rcui t current transformers and one earth fault current transformer. The overcurrent is indicated by a red LED

● The fault indicator provides a range from 7s to 8hr automatic resetting time selection

Smoke alarm ● The smoke alarm normally installed on the roof of YB-O, in case of a fire or

smoke inside the YB-O, can be enable the electronic speaker which will make a loud buzzing and also a signal will be sent for remote monitoring.

Cable thermal detecting device ● HZT100 is used to detect the temperature of the cables ● The reading will be shown on the screen. If the cable is overheated, it

will be indicated by a red LED, and also a signal can be used for remote monitoring

Transformer thermal detecting device ● The device is used to detect the oil and winding temperature of the

transformer. It can send a signal to trip the upstream switch for protecting the transformer

Transportation and lifting

Transportation ● YB-O can be carried by a forklift for short distances. Please make sure

the Forklift's maximum rated load capacity

● There are 4 davits inside the bottom bracket of YB-O normally hidden inside, can be pulled out for enabling the YB-O be lifted by a crane. The lifting frame which is designed for YB-O is used to prevent the damage of the YB-O's surface and roof

● A chain rope is needed to be used to fix the YB-O on a truck for long distance transportation. The davits can also be used to help fixing the YB-O on the truck

Inspection and commissioning

● While opening the door of HV or LV rooms, make sure the door is held by the limiting stopper

● Make sure all fuses are installed correctly

● Before closing the incoming panel, make sure that all switches are in the correct position

● Low voltage breakers can be motor-operated or operated by a handle

● By setting the correct value, the Reactive compensation panel will achieve automatic close/open operation

● Make sure that the corresponding HV panel is in open or earthing position before entering the transformer room

● The ratio between the high voltage and low voltage of the transformer can be adjusted by the tapping connection changer

● Make sure the secondary wiring connections are correct

● Make sure all devices are installed correctly and reliably

● Make sure all instruments are working in appropriate position

● Make sure all doors are locked while leaving the enclosure

Maintenance ● Regularly inspect the surface of the enclosure, any damages that may

need to be fixed should be fixed as soon as possible to avoid rusting on the surface

● Regularly inspect all operating parts and instruments, and make sure all parts are working correctly

● If an Oil-immersed transformer is used in YB-O, the analysis of the oil sample needs to be done once a year at least

● After the tripping, the fault should be fixed before closing switch

● Once a fuse is blown, all the three fuse-links need to be changed

Upgrade ● If any HV switchgear, LV switchgear or transformer need(s) to be changed

or upgraded, the roof of YB-O is removable, and all the works can be completed within a limited time
