1. Make sure you binder is organized & complete, with grade sheet on top. Staple and turn in.

Silent Reading (all classes) – 20 min.

• Remember, you lose daily points if you are off task during this time.

• You should not be visiting, doing homework, or using this time to use the restroom or go to the office. (Do that during work time.)

• Things you can do during this time:• Find a book

• Visit the library

• Read your own book or read school materials related to class or homework

Quick Adjectives Review

• Go over adjectives warm-up/review

• Go over tonight’s homework

• Adjectives homework extra credit: write a paragraph using adjectives that answer all of the “adjective questions” from your notes:

• Adjectives answer the following questions: "Which one?" "What kind?" "How many?" "How much?" and "Whose?"

• Circle the adjectives in your sentences and with the question they answer.

• PAIRS/GROUPS: make a theme/purpose/evidence POSTER like the example on the wall

• On your note-taking handout, choose a highlighter color for each of the 3 columns.

• Read the article, and highlight information by color-code. (ex. if you choose green highlighter for “data,” then highlight basic facts in green while you read.)

• Transfer information in note form (bulleted points, few words) on your note-taking handout.

• Read the laminated pamphlet. You can’t highlight this document, but use the same principles when taking notes.

• You will use these notes on your assignment in science next week. You will possible not have access to the articles, so be sure your notes are complete.
