Built to design of a traditional Balinese family compound home, Villa Surya Damai’s large open-sided living room and charming thatched bedroom pavilions are set within an enchanting walled garden, along one side of which basks the irresistable pool.

These guidelines are intended to give Event Organisers (EOs) and their clients, guidance specific to Surya Damai and should be read in conjunction with Elite Havens General Guidelines for Event Management.

WEATHERThe weather factor to consider with Villa Surya Damai is the wet season from November till March. EOs are advised to consider these conditions and plan accordingly for events.

It is a compulsory to use a marquee or a tent during the rainy season months in Bali (November – March). This will be the backup plan as the villa do not offer indoor space to accommodate the guests, especially when it involves a larger group.

The tent needs to have clear plastic sides curtains and a proper flooring. A professional vendor is required to ensure the quality of the structure follow EH standards. A list of approved vendors can be proposed.

EVENT FACILITIES

KITCHEN AND BARThe kitchen in the villa is a rather small kitchen and therefore not suitable for event caterers can set up a wet kitchen on the side of the main kitchen, event organizers are requested to provide a tent to cover this area. The lawns inthis section are narrow and uneven; it is therefore advisable for planners to inspect the area with the catering company.

There is no existing bar available for events. Caterer’s may set up a bar on the lawns or pool deck.

GUEST BATHROOMSBathrooms in the bedrooms are not recommended for public use and the bedrooms should be locked during the event. There si one public bathroom attached ro the villa main entrance. We kindly ask EO’s to regularly check the cleanliness of the bathrooms during the event.

PARKING AND ACCESSVilla Surya Damai has only a small car park used by the villa car and staff. There is an empty land opposite the villa that can be used as a parking area during the event.

REGULATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS The main living room must not be used as an event space. The large wooden dining table can’t be removed.

No staging should be built into or over the pool. Floating bamboo and foam structures for candles and flowers are permitted however they should be removed by the EO by 1am as soon as guests enter pool in order to avoid any damage to the pool.

Marquees must be freestanding.

Fireworks and/or Thai wishing lanterns are strictly forbidden.

We recommend that the dance floor and DJ booth are set up in either the Bale Gede or in the paved area in front of the swimming pool. The furniture in the bale can be moved to create a bigger space.
