WHAT MESSAGE AM I SENDING WHEN I GET

BAPTIZED?



1. I am saying to my NEW COACH (Jesus Christ):I’LL DO WHATEVER YOU ASK OF ME!



Jesus said, “Go then, to all people everywhere and make them my disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matt. 28:19-20



2. I am saying to my TEAMMATES:YOU CAN COUNT ON ME!



For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body ... there should be no division in the body ... its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. 1 Corinthians 12:13, 25-26



3. I am saying to a WATCHING WORLD:JESUS IS WORTH FOLLOWING!



We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4



WHAT IS PREVENTING ME FROM PUTTING ON THE “TEAM UNIFORM” AND

BEING BAPTIZED?

Then Philip began with the scripture and told him the Good News about Jesus. As they traveled along the road, they came to some water, and the man said, “Look, here is water! Why shouldn’t I be baptized right now?”



Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” The man answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” So they went down into the water and Philip baptized him. Acts 8:35-38
