1 General

This software is used to download *.bin file to mobile. It can be used for QSC6010 types mobiles.

You must ensure that the mobile has enough power to support the download and must be connected with

the specific cable or serial line.

The OS of the computer on which setup the download software must be Win2000 or WinXP.

Before download, you must check these things below:

1． Pick out the RUIM card in the mobile.

2． Ensure that there is enough power for supporting the download process(say, the battery capacity

must exceed 2/3 )。

3． Before download the new version to a phone, it is necessary to backup its NV file (just select

the “Backup and Restore NV” on the second page), and name the files with the corresponding

ESN of that mobile.

4． After download the new version, if the NV file of the mobile is lost, then you can use the NV

file you backup in the last step to restore. (Just use the “Backup and Restore ”on the second

page)

5． When setup the download software, don’t change its default setup path.

6． You do not need to reconfigure the items in the panel. Just use the default.

7． Before using the download software, you must know this guide very well.

2 Setup and the Interface

2.1 Setup

The software’s name is “DL_QSC6010V1.00.00Setup”, just run the *.exe to setup. You must use the

default path.

Describe as below：

1． All the files will be included in the path "C:\Program Files\ZTE\DL_QSC6010 “;

2.2 Help

After setup, please read the user guide first，the path is as below:

2.3 Interface of the programmer

After setup, there will be an icon in your desktop like below:

Just double click the icon to run the download software:

3 Step by step

3.1 Connect the cable or serial port line

Connect the phone and the computer’s serial port (COM1) with the specific cable. And there will

display “searching” when the phone is not turn on.

After the phone is power up, and you select the right port settings. Then there will display “Ready”

status.

NOTE: You must ensure that there has the enough power for downloading.

3.2 Setting

The default serial port the download software used is COM1. If you connect the other port, you can

change the port setting on the panel, just like below.

The default setting is COM1.

3.3 Select the image file

For the software to be downloaded, you can choose the image from the interface in the first page

(Software download) like below:

Click the button “ ”，select the version software for the phone and the name of the version

and its path will be displayed in the interface.

In the same way, you can select the path of NV file when backup in the second page (Backup and

Restore NV)

And other paths just use the default settings.

3.4 Backup NV

For the details, see the 3.9.2. It will be carried manually.

3.5 Download the software

Before you do the download, check all the settings and path and file names you configured.

In the first page (Software Download), we suggest to select the “Restore RF and ESN” option. This

option will do the NV backup before download and restore after download automatically. And the NV file

will be saved in the path like “C:\Program Files\ZTE\ZPST_DL_P300\NV_BackUp”.

After last two-step above, just click the “Start” button to start the download process.

During this process, you can do noting but waiting for its ending. And note that “Do not power down

the phone or pull out the cable from the phone during downloading”.

3.6 Download ending

After successful downloading, the interface will display ”PASS”, just like below:

3.7 About NV file

3.7.1 Automatically

The default path to save the NV file is “C:\Program Files\ZTE\DL_QSC6010\NV_BackUp”; there

are two NV files, one named NVTemp.nvm, and the other named NV_(esn).nvm.

You can ignore the first one, because the download software uses it automatically.

The second file you can be used to restore the corresponding phone’s NV (has the same ESN).

ALL the files are produced automatically during downloading.

3.7.2 Manually

In the second page (Backup and Restore NV):

Select the second page “NV Page”, click the “ ” button of backup to choose the path of the

backup file, then click “ ” to start the process.

restore file, then click “ ” to start the process.

4 Super User

The super user has the right to download different types of software version, If you select the

“super user” check button ,then there will show the following picture15.

The ‘R code’ is the code used for register, it is a random number which will change every time

you open the Register page. The ‘use times’ is a integer set by the user, it is the download times that

enable to be use, if you want use the tool to download for 10 times you should set the number to 10.

click the Set button to close the button.

5 Record File

After the software download a new bin file, the software write automatically the ESN, the MEID, the

type of the phone and the downloading time and status to the record file.

All download software use the only record file. Those software write download information to the file.

The record file is encrypted and modified at will.

5.1Export the record file with the *.sdi format

If you press the button ，the software export the record file with the *.sdi format.

When you do this, the software give you information which ask you affirm do this.

Notice: After the software export the record file with the *.sdi format, the software deletes all data in

the original record file.

5.2 Export the record file with the *.xls format

If you press the button ，the software export the record file with the *.sdi format.

Notice: After the software export the record file with the *.xls format, the software does not delete

and reserves all data in the original record file.
