Since the latter part of September the
Avengers have had a lot going
on. On 14 September we had
a company rock climbing day
at Craig Gym. Several soldiers
were previously certified to
fulfill duties as belay masters
for the day. Everyone had fun
watching 1SG fall
off the wall sev-
eral times. This
event was part of our resiliency
training and serves as part of our
alcohol and substance abuse alter-
natives program. Don’t drink,
climb a rock instead.
On 19 September the spouses met to
do a gun safety class and shoot some rounds,
the count was over 1500 in about two hours.
We had a lot of fun shooting
every th i ng
from hand
guns to lever
action pistols
to semi auto-
matic rifles.
Pictures from
the event are
posted on
the photobucket website.
On the 28th of September we held a
suicide awareness stand down during which
we had several classes focusing on how to assist
those in need of help.
We also participated in
a brigade run during
which our company
was awarded the ‘devil
stakes’ streamer for
search a detainee. This
was one of several
competitions that companies send teams to
compete in every month. The individuals
that won us this great honor are SGT Jaeger,
SPC Pavlich, SPC Reynolds, SGT Bigorra, and
SGT King. Thank you for putting your best
effort into the event and teaching everyone
else to ‘NEVER QUIT’.
This month on 11 and 12 October we
were given the opportunity to assist Junc-
tion City Middle School, our battalion
sponsored community school, with land
navigation classes. This was a lot of fun for
the children to learn a new skill and gave
soldiers an
opportunity
to get in-
volved with
the commu-
nity. SGT
Jaeger did a
fabulous job
coordinating
the event. There were over 16 soldiers in-
volved with assisting hundreds of students
refine their skills.
This month has been an overwhelming
feat of property accountability in both wres-
tling with PBUSE and the increased invento-
ries. As we pre-
pare for the
change of com-
mand we will
continue to con-
duct and refine
the inventory
p r o c e s s a l l
through Novem-
ber. Great job so far, keep up the excellent
work.
Never Quit!

made us
proud by being the Distinguished
Honor Graduate for the training. The
24th
of September was a big day for the
Avengers Company, completing a
100% APFT. And of course performing
not only 1st in the Company, but 1
st in
the Battalion, the ISR Platoon is on top
with an average score of 267 points.
Furthermore, on the 27th
another
range was carried out with all atten-
dees from 1st Platoon qualifying and com-
ing home victori-
ous. Then finish-
ing up the month
of September with
a bang, 1st platoon
had the honor of
leading the Com-
pany as the 1st
Avenger, Captain
America, in a Bri-
gade run that was
followed by a Sui-
cide Prevention Stand Down and SHARP
training, of which we had 100% account-
ability.
Already the month of October
has been busy with SGT Schira, SPC
Rabun, and PFC Gerhardt stepping for-
ward by starting ARCGIS training as the
rest of the platoon works hard preparing
for the Pre-Change-of-Command inspec-
tions and inventories. New to our family
is SGT Terry, a 35G coming to us from
Korea, welcome him as he brings new
thoughts and ideas to the ISR team.

October? Holy crap! It’s official! We’ve been back from Iraq for a year! And to celebrate our re-deployment anniversary MSG pla-toon spared no expense planning and executing a most-excellent pla-toon resiliency day, consisting of
both a gourmet breakfast at IHOP, and a bowling extravaganza that lasted three-whole hours! Whew!
Time sure flies when you are hav-ing fun. In addition to Army-sponsored fun, MSG has kept themselves busy during September by con-ducting the following: cyclic in-ventories and inspections; STG
training; preparations for the up-coming Red Test; Drivers training for PFC Washington; Field Sanita-
tion class for Sgt. Jacq-Pow; a Crossing Guard detail for Sgt. Scaife; Sgt Boyce hung out at Division for a week providing an NCO for Access Control; and last but definitely not
least, IEW squad was in class for weeks doing all sorts of intensely technical stuff, with super-awesome Top Secret systems that no one can know about.
MSG Platoon
As sure as the changing of the leaves, and the steady onset of freez-ing temperatures, so it is that MSG platoon has lost another excellent Non-Commissioned Officer. On the 24th of September, MSG platoon said
goodbye to Staff Sergeant Jessica Jackson, as she left in pursuit of eve-rything the civilian world has to offer. An effective leader, generous with her time and knowledge—she will be sorely missed, but we take solace in knowing that she is in a better place. Live in Peace SSG Jackson.
end by having to say our goodbyes to
SGT Crawford as he begins a new jour-
ney forward by leaving us on 14 October
2012 to Ft. Sam Houston, remember to
wish him and his family luck on their fu-
ture endeavors.

Training Mission for 4th Platoon, which is
set to start within the next couple
months. This training will develop and
improve perishable MOS skills for the
Platoon. The platoon then said goodbye
to SPC Jennings and welcomed SGT Gil-
more to the team. PFC Saez did
not let pregnancy get in the way
as she climbed the rock wall like
a true Spiderman reaching the
top with ease during the Company Resil-
iency Day. SPC Marketon-Snowden and SPC
Vassalli attended both graduated from WLC.
The platoon also worked on improving their
writing skills during a week-long class, which
is essential to their MOS. The platoon also
spent countless hours on inventories ensur-
ing everything would be ready for the Pre
Change of Command Inventories in Octo-
ber.
The TUAS Platoon has conducted split
shift flight operations in an effort to pro-
gress operators to
Readiness Level (RL)
1, and to maintain
currency those op-
erators already RL1.
Split shifts allow for
the progression of
day and night tasks
with the shadow
system without vio-
lating crew rest stan-
dards. Soldiers of 3rd
PLT TUAS partici-
pated in classes this month including:
Ball eti-

class, DPW
class, Spe-
cial Forces
selection
(SGT Crista)
and Laser opera-
tions. Dress uni-
form inspections
where conducted
so that deficiencies
could be rectified
prior to the Ball.
PFC McChesney
and PFC Hebert
received AAMs for
stopping an individual from driving
home while he was drunk. The platoon
also con-
ducted
pool PT at
long gym.
It has
been a

and it will
continue to stay busy for the remainder of
