7 August National Night Out-Fort Riley will celebrate National Night Out on Wednesday, August 7, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Forsyth

Neighborhood Center. This event is a great way to meet your neighbors and interact with the Fort Riley Police and Fire Departments. There

will be food, static displays, 3 on 3 basketball competitions, tug of war competition and more! If you are interested in participating in any

of the competitions or for more information, please contact your community office. National Night Out has been celebrated across the

country since 1984 to increase awareness on topics like police and firefighter programs, drug prevention, neighborhood watch programs

and crime prevention. To learn more, visit www.nationalnightout.org/nno. This is a free event, no pets please.

9 August End of Summer Beach Luau Party: Join the Youth Center at Bldg 5800 for their Open House and BBQ 4:30pm-6pm. For more

10 August Family Canoe Trip: Settle in, relax and enjoy a leisurely trip in one of Kansas' local bodies of water. Grab your friends and

Families, pack a lunch and join our staff for some fun in the sun. The destination will be based on Current water levels and acccessibility.

11 August 40 Frame Family Bowling Tournament Custer Hill Bowling Lanes: Custer Hill Bowling Lanes will be hosting a Family 40 Frame

event. This is a all day event. Scores will be collected and winners will be notified. $30 per Family, must have a child under 12 years old on

11 August PetPoolooza: at CiCo park Pool in Manhattan after the city pools slose for the season, dogs and their humans are invited to come

enjoy, let your pup cool off in the water between 1pm-4pm. The event is FREE, there is a $2 suggested donation. All proceeds go to the T.

Russell Reitz Animal Shelter.

12 August USO No Dough Dinner: No Dough Dinner at Moon Lake - Dinner and a Movie! To celebrate the end of summer vacation with

the kiddos going back to school, we will be giving away a free movie and popcorn to each family that attends! Dinner is from 5:00-6:30

and then, we invite you to stay and play after the dinner and we will be showing a movie (film TBD) as it begins to get dark!

13 August ScreamFREE Parenting: Join CYSS on Tuesday, Aug 13th 6pm-7:45pm at Bldg 6620 Normandy Dr for there Scream Free

15 August Fort Riley OCSC:. Mark your calendar for the 1st Event of the New OCSC 2013-2014 event. You will be able to sign up as a

23 August Splash and Dash 2013 Early Register Fee: There is no same day registrations! To receive your T-shirt with you entry packet you

23 August 6 :30-9pm.Enjoy hand-crafted samples of Manhattan's Tallgrass Brewing Co. at this annual fundraiser benefitting Sunset Zoo

and its wildlife conservation efforts. Tickets are $30 in advance; $40 day of event, if available.

Brew at the Zoo will take place along the African Forest Trail loop near the primate exhibit and inside the Nature Exploration Center at

24 August Movie Night @ Ft Riley Library: 6:30pm they will be showing Wreck it Ralph. Bring the kids and movie pals and enjoy an

24 August Annual Fall Daylily Sale: Flint Hills Daylily Society will hold their annual fall daylily sale on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the

Farmers Market in Manhattan, 8am to noon. New location is in the northwest parking lot of the Manhattan Town Center Mall. We'll offer

several hundred different bareroot daylilies, in many colors and flower types. Daylilies are the perfect summer perennial-- very colorful and

easy-care. Come early for the best selection! Priced $5 and up.

26 August HASFR Ice Cream Social & Membership drive 6pm at the Custer House. For more information see attached flyer.

28 & 29 August Purple Power Play on Poyntz City Park: Join the K-State Wildcats beginning 6pm with a pep rally to kick off the 2013

Football season! This is a two day event, community-wide and spirit lifting great time. Fun for all! So get out your purple shirts and show

off your Wildcat spirit! First game kicks off on Aug 30th with North Dakota State in Manhattan!

29 August Ft Riley Network: 1pm @ Riley’s Conference Center network for disseminating Family Readiness Group information to Soldiers

and Family members. Open to all. If you need Child Care please RSVP with Stacie Dumas by 12pm on 22 August with child’s name, child's

Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts

30 August Don't miss Bret Michael's and his band LIVE at the Stiefel Theatre in Salina Friday, August 30 at 8pm. Known for his GREAT

SHOWS, Bret Michaels is an American musician, actor, director, screenwriter, producer and reality television personal...ity. He first gained

fame as the lead vocalist of Poison. Great tickets still remain for this fun end-of-summer-show. Call 785-827-1998 for info or to buy tickets

Milford Lake is no long under Blue Green Algae Advisory-The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has removed Milford Lake

from the list of lakes impacted by blue green algae. The Fort Riley Marina will resume rentals of Jet Skies, tubs, water skies, canoes/ kayaks

starting 7-26-13. So grab some friends and head out the Fort Riley Military Marina for a great weekend. Don’t forget the Marina also offers

primitive camping.

Manhattan Town Center -Back to school is right around the corner and so is the annual Grand for Grade Schools Contest! Help support

your favorite grade school by turning in your mall receipts August 1-31! See attached flyer for more information.

MHK Trolley Service To & From Event - It's Free!

MHK Trolley will provide rides to & from City Park starting at 6pm. Herbie will pick up Brew-goers, drop them off at the Zoo and

following the event, trolley folks back to continue their celebrations. Trolley riders should park in City Park, at the gravel lot directly south

of Aggieville, accessed from Fremont Street. Look for event signs!

What's the Victory Center? ArmyWellnessCenter(AWC) (which is located in the Victory Center) offers health and fitness testing, including

a Bod-Pod, which offers one of the most accurate body composition measurements available, Seat said. AWC also can test resting

metabolic rate and fitness levels, including cardio, strength and flexibility. Biofeedback services help patrons learn to monitor and manage

stress levels. Individual consultations are available, as well as group classes on topics like stress reduction. For more information click on

Family Readiness Group (FRG) On-Line Training:

On-line Training: ACS has these class to offer online for FRG’s for volunteers if your unable to take them in a class room setting. See flyer

below for available class at the ACS.
