1 June Friends of Konza Prairie Annual Wildflower Walk: Reservations are not required! This two-mile guided hike will be from

6:30pm. Hike and see 50 species of native prairie plants. Bring your camera! Cost: non-members fees $10/per person, & $2/child

2-6 June CYSS Events British Soccer Camps at Ft Riley: with programs for each age, the curriculums include: Foot skills, technical drills,

tactical practices, freestyle soccer, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and mini tournament play. Players also learn about core

Festival (formerly Midsummer Nights Dream Festival) is a FREE Children's Festival taking place in Abilene every summer! Children dress

up as their favorite Fairy Tale Character and come to the Downtown Area to have fun for hours! Different area businesses set up or

sponsor lots of kid themed booths and activities that are sprinkled throughout the downtown. Starting along 3rd street at Little Ike's Park

6-7 June D-Day + 70 years Event: Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home located in Abilene, Kansas: 1ID

Division Band Symphony at sunset will perform, Documentaries, Historians, Military Re-enactors, Panel Discussions Remembrance

7 June Day Camp at Pottorf Hall Riley County Fairgrounds: 9am-3pm Day camp available for all military youth, ages 7 to 12 yrs old.

13 June CYSS Middle School & Teen Center Midnight Basketball: this is a monthly late night basketball tournament held at FT Riley MST.

25 June Fall/Apple Day’s Festival Lottery Booth Drawing: Open to all Battalion and above FRG groups! If your BN is interested in doing

the fundraiser there is some information for you to know:

When: June 25th

Time: 1:30pm

Where: Bldg 580 Division HQ’s Bldg, Room 110

Who: All BN and above FRG Groups

Other information:

· Need to have a Battalion Representative at the meeting (FRSA’s are not allow to make the decisions for the BN’s)

· Will need to have at least 5/6 choices of wanting to sell (walking Taco’s, Hot dogs, Hamburgers, etc)

· All BN/Co/TRP/BTRY Funds Custodians (primary & alternate) must be in place and on appt. orders

· Informal Funds SOP and Funds Appt Orders updated and on file at DFMWR

· All volunteers need to have food handlers card at all times while in the booth: can get training online at IACH website:

•Click on Food Handlers training

•Complete training and take the test; once completed print out results

•Take test results to Bldg 640 on 2nd Floor RM 202

•They will issue Food Handlers card; the card is good for one year of date given

Family Child Care provides Needed: Fort Riley is looking for Family Child Care (FCC) Providers. Join out orientation every Thursday at

CYSS Needs Volunteers for Coaching Youth Sports: they are in dire need of Referee’s, Coach’s and Assistant Coach’s. This is a great

opportunity for Soldiers to earn their MOVSM. Plus if you have High School Students who need their volunteer hours for High School

graduation they may be able to assist coach’s. If you are interested contact Bldg 6620 to get your volunteer packet.

Country Stampede is coming need Volunteers: if you volunteer for the event you’ll get admission to all four days, parking, reserved

OPSEC Video for your Teens on Social Media: This is a great video for all teens to watch about Operation Security (OPSEC). Children

have access to all social media: cell phones, Facebook, Twitter, emails and much more. Check it out at: http://youtu.be/nQZyHOXkoqU

2014 Yellow Ribbon Social Schedule: Is your spouse deployed, TDY or on rotation to NTC or JRTC? If you answered yes to either one of

these they you are able to attend the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce Yellow Ribbon Social Group for spouses. They meet

monthly at various locations in the Manhattan community. Join them for great food, make some new friends and build a support team

filled with folds who know what you are going through. The events are all “Dutch-Style” meaning you spend as much or as little as you

would like per your outing. They DO NOT ALLOW Children at these events. So spouse if you can get a sitting for a few hours on these

nights it’s a great way to get out and have some great fun. See Flyer below for scheduled events for the rest of the 2014 calendar. You

Family Readiness Group (FRG) On-Line Training:
