To the class of 2015,

I always enjoy this time of the year because it is the end of high school for each of you as well as an

exciting time as you plan for your future as young adults. I like to think back to the first time we met and all

of the conversations that we have shared. When you arrived, you all wanted a new start, but each of you

had a different story and all sorts of reasons for wanting to finish up at Community High School. All you

really wanted was another chance to receive your high school diploma. You also needed a place where you

had the opportunity to be yourselves, and I truly believe that our program has allowed you to do that. How

fortunate we have been to have had you in our student body!

I have really enjoyed this year, and I know it was simple for some of you and then for others it was not

so easy. Waking early to catch the bus to get here, finding child care,

working full time, and a lot of other things could have thrown you off

course, but you didn’t let them! I admire each and every one of you for

sticking with it and following through. You have all matured both aca-

demically and socially and you are on your way to the next chapter in

your life.

The other side of high school can be everything you can imagine,

you just need to put your best foot forward. I am sure it seems scary,

but keep in mind you have nothing standing in your way. At this point,

you have so many options in life. Don’t take the easy way out; you know

you have the drive and perseverance it takes to be successful. Look at

where you are today, be proud of yourself, and before you go, make sure

and thank those that helped you get to this finish line!
