A Study on Employee Welfare Facilities and its Impact on Employee Work
Satisfaction at Addis Pharmaceutical Factory PLC-Adigrat, Ethiopia

Abstract The study was conducted to know the impact of employee welfare facilities on employee work
satisfaction at Addis Pharmaceutical Factory PLC in Adigrat in the Eastern zone of Tigray, Ethiopia.
A descriptive case study was employed to achieve the objective of this research. In the selection of the
sample population random sampling technique was used because around 1200 employees are working
in different disciplines like HR, Accounting, Production & operations, R&D and Logistics. The line
managers of the factory and employees were involved in the study in order to get data from existing
employees both questionnaire and interview methods were used. The data collected through
questionnaire were analyzed using textual explanation. The conclusion generally indicates that the
welfare facilities not only helped the company towards employee satisfaction, thus it is a valuable and
utmost activity of the company. The researchers hereby recommended that Addis Pharmaceutical
Factory should recognize the significance of welfare facilities and also how it needs to increase the
employee work satisfaction in order to achieve the organizational objectives.
