About Lunge Dance Collective

"Amber" is a piece about loss and the stages of grief. The inspiration for the work was developed from personal writings provided by each performer about their own experiences with loss. "Amber" plays with

extremely exaggerated emotion by taking each performer back to their personal moment of loss, delving into it, and recreating initial reactions. The piece takes the performers from their initial reaction

through each stage of grief and ends with the acceptance of loss. The setting is that of a dinner party for a child. As the guests arrive one by

one, the news is brought to their attention that the child has gone missing. The title, "Amber," comes from the organization "AMBER

Alert," which is a child abduction alert service that operates in several countries throughout the world. The organization issues alerts about suspected child abductions in order to increase the likelihood of the

child returning.

Those interested in subscribing to receive AMBER Alerts in their area via SMS (text) messages can visit WirelessAmberAlerts.org,

which are offered by law as free text messages.
