71% of Americans said their phone is the first thing they look at everyday. 80% of your event attendees have a smartphone in their pocket. By 2016 10 billion mobile devices in use globally covering all populations despite economic and cultural differences.

Most commonengaging technologies

Tablets – Portable content sharing and working tool, requires wifi and broadband for sharing. Consider space, cost and battery life. Ipads, Samsungs, KindleFire.

ARS Hardwares – Typically RFID technology with handheld devices, no wireless required, is a controlled and secure in-room tool. Can range from basic polling to messaging, microphones, trivia etc. Consider need to move equipment, learning curve, cost of hardware and service, relevance. Example Turning Tech, IML, Meridia.

Mobile and Event Apps – Bring your own device interaction through applications. Built for various platforms, a wide range of features for content sharing, measuring learning, gaming, engagement etc. Requires link access or app store download, 3G/4G connection or wireless and broadband, and device battery life. Quickmobile, Double Dutch, Lumi.

ACCED – I Survey & Demographics Quiz App

Goal: Client was in need of a solution to quickly and efficiently gather survey information for all conference sessions in an environment that didn’t have great wireless in the meeting rooms. The client also decided to push a demographics quiz to gather further helpful data from and about their audience.

Engagement Solution: Event application

⁻ Survey and quiz content was provided to Lumi before the event and pre-programmed into the app.

⁻ The App was publicized and pushed out to attendees.

⁻ Results are being collected as you complete them, any survey or quiz completed in an area without wireless will be saved and instantly uploaded once a wifi connection is restored. Lumi can provide results in reports at any time.

Training and Role Play Certification

Goal: Client was in need of a solution to quickly and efficiently certify 900 field representatives during a recent product launch training. In the past, paper forms were used and results often took weeks to coordinate and disseminate.

Engagement Solution: Event application

⁻ A customized certification test was built within the app and pre-downloaded onto iPads for the field representatives.

⁻ Results were collected instantly as the tests were completed and individual results were sent to all reps and their 300 managers within 48 hours of the trainings completion.

Break-In sessions Goal: Client needed to cover multiple topics to different audiences quickly. Event was being held at a new and coveted event space. As the meeting date arrived the attendance had grown larger than they had anticipated for each sessions and break-out rooms were too small.

Goal: Push content and annual review presentation to board members tablets. Allow board members to provide anonymous feedback, thoughts and comments about the bank. Allow board members to vote on company future initiatives. Engagement Solution: Tablet with BYOD event conference app

- Locked down engagement solution for tablets was used for this meeting

- Moderator tablet - Presentation - Real-time and ad-lib polling- Live message board for questions, feedback, etc.- Note taking on the tablets and then emailed to themselves

Buyers/Suppliers Event Goal: Gamify the meeting/networking and entice buyers and suppliers to connect and engage with each other. Provide exposure to sponsors. Engagement Solution: Mobile event conference App

Goal: The purpose of this competition is to encourage HPN representatives to engage in a “Meaningful Interaction’ with the supplier partners at the Global Meeting

Engagement Solution: Event conference application⁻ HPN Reps were encouraged to use the application during the event

product fairs, however a meaningful interaction could take place at any time during the conference and it’s up to the Partner to decide what a ‘meaningful interaction’ is.

⁻ The data was filtered to prevent duplicate scans.⁻ A top 10 leader board was presented on Thursday Morning –

included Comments received, which presents a second opportunity for recognition. Prizes were awarded to the people with the most mutual meaningful interactions

Collaborative Learning and Gaming

Goal: Client was in need of a professional yet new way to engage attendees at an international conference. The goal was to ensure understanding of a new treatment and disseminate information in a fun team building and learning based environment.Engagement Solution: Event app⁻ Throughout each session, timely quizzes would be pushed

out to an iPad assigned to each table.⁻ Attendees collaborated and contributed feedback as teams

and through a built in scoring function.⁻ Large bold leaderboards were posted at the end of the day.

Goal: Client was seeking a unique solution for its premier pharmaceutical client holding a medical sales training meeting. Needed to ensure the training sessions and their results were fast, reliable and secure, to measure attendee learning, run seamlessly with the over 3,000 attendees, and function across the three hotels which were over 1.5 miles from one another

Engagement Solution: Advanced ARS Hardware ⁻ Pre-set ARS handhelds in all the rooms at all of the venues⁻ Pushed broadcasted product training to all rooms at all locations⁻ Pushed real-time test questions to all rooms at all locations⁻ Pushed scoreboards periodically throughout the event⁻ Provided results each day to regional sales heads

Goal: Annual Conference, 1600 attendees, 13 separate venues across the country. Use a leading edge, innovative, secure and reliable technology to inform and engage their consultants at a strategic level centering around Santam's new digital technology, IT systems and mobile apps.

Engagement Solution: BYOD event app⁻ virtual event was created in an online dashboard - Questions, quick polls and announcements were pre-loaded

and could be pushed instantly to the audience- Live message board could capture and share candid real-

time feedback, questions, comments from all participants no matter where they were

Good connection User experience is likely to be good, content should load quickly, all users should be able to vote.

Poor connection It is likely there will be a lot of connectivity issues and user experience may be very poor. Content will not load quickly if at all. Some users may not receive votes if connectivity drops at the time of vote.
