6 | Bowls SA Annual Report 2013-2014

Chief Executive Officer | Mark Easton

This is my first full annual report as Chief Executive Officer of Bowls SA and I’m excited to be able to share some thoughts about the work of Bowls SA

over the past year.

Before joining Bowls SA, I spent my career in business, both in sport and private enterprise, and as I was making the transition I asked many people for advice. Over and over again, I heard a similar refrain; Bowls is changing, we are predominately a volunteer organisation operating in the business of Bowls.

Gradually, I started to take some issue with this idea. Without a doubt, businesses get pure market feedback in many cases and Bowls is no exception.Bowls SA generates a detailed sales report, but there is more than one kind of business we are dealing with. When your work involves researching and developing new products and services, you can’t always get real-time information about what’s working and what isn’t. For example, providing regular visits to schools for Bowls participation is a life investment, and whilst our wish is that juniors will take up the sport immediately, chances are our work today will not bear fruit for some 10 -20 years.

In short, in a business like Bowls, sometimes you have to invest in innovations that don’t reach the market for a decade or more. In those instances, you rely on the other tools at your disposal to determine if the potential reward is worth the risk. You do your homework before you take on a project. You gather feedback from others with experience and good judgment. You use whatever interim data is available to measure progress as rigorously as you can.

Other sports are in a similar position. Often, finding the best ways to help people improve their lives takes many years of research and experimentation. But businesses are obligated to pursue financial returns, which don’t always coincide with social returns. Governments’ ability to undertake socially beneficial research is sometimes limited by political considerations. Bowls, in contrast, have more freedom to innovate in pursuit of social returns but because we’re taking risks, we have to accept the likelihood that some of our grants and strategies aren’t going to get the results we expected.

Our opportunity is in developing all relationships and minimising the reliance on capitation by implementing a commercial team to identify outside opportunities to alleviate the dependence on the membership sustaining the sport financially.

At the same time, we have to accept a series of responsibilities, e.g. setting clear priorities, using data effectively and relying on others’ expertise to make sure we’re making the most of available grants and devising the best strategies we can.

At Bowls SA, we work especially hard to engage a wide network of partners who bring diverse perspectives to the work we’re doing together and I’ve spent a fair amount of my time over the past year, and months before, getting to know our partners.

In questing for more money, Bowls SA have employed a strong commercial team in Daniel Lawlor and Graham Saliba, who have been tasked with engaging and investing in potentials for alternative income through Government, sponsorships and commercial opportunities.

This has been a very hard year for Bowls SA and the near future doesn’t look any easier. We’ve heard from our colleagues at many sports and we’re all digging deeper into our pockets and coming out with less money.

Many ‘not for profits’ have fewer and fewer resources at precisely the moment when the need for their services is greatest. It’s difficult for not for profit organisations to find fiscal balance when there are so many demands to be met.

The Bowls SA membership model which has stood us in good stead for previous generations is now under review with the need to take into account, and further encourage, participation by implementing a capitation model that can provide a true position of the status of our sport.

On the one hand, there are exciting opportunities presenting themselves right now such as social formats of the game and the Australian Premier League on television.

On the other hand, there are needs that demand long-term commitment and will ultimately affect the long-term economic viability of the sport.

Bowls SA must make sure we have enough money to safeguard the sport and as we balance all these needs we’ll have to make tough choices.

In the current environment it’s unlikely that Bowls

SA will be able to continue to increase spending and as we look towards establishing a future of economic sustainability, I have two priorities as CEO to help Bowls SA increase its impact per dollar spent.

The first is to make sure our internal processes run smoothly. One of my key responsibilities is to create an environment in which our staff can do their best work. Earlier this year, we engaged a consultant to undertake a State-wide Audit surveying all our Clubs, Associations, Regions and employees for the first time ever. We were heartened by many of the findings with a high percentage of respondents proud of what the organisation stands for. However, our staff also told us that it can be hard to get things done efficiently and effectively. We need to clear some hurdles so we can all focus our energy on the people we aim to help; our Members and Clubs and we’re currently developing a plan to address the results of the survey.

My second priority is to improve the quality of our external partnerships, which are our lifeblood. I know there is room for improvement in this area and starting with me, everybody at Bowls SA needs to make a concerted effort to listen more carefully to what our shareholders, Members and partners in the field have to tell us.

To that end, we are working with all stakeholders on strategies to maximise benefits to all parties and the goal of my leadership and the management team is to devote time in the next year to respond to what we hear and build on our current efforts to strengthen our relationships with our partners.

As we address these important issues within the Strategic Plan, we will be guided first and foremost by how this work contributes to our overarching goal of helping to improve the way Bowls SA and Clubs operate as a business and how Members and participants can be assisted to continue to enjoy their sport.

In that spirit, I look forward to reporting in next year’s Annual Report on how Bowls SA has acted on the State-wide Audit report; the information we’ve received from our stakeholders, employees and our partners; and how as an organisation we plan to keep increasing the impact of every available dollar. In the end, impact is why we’re here; to improve Bowls overall and see the sport financially viable and sustainable into the future.

The Australian Premier League was a highlight during the year and an exciting opportunity for the future. Team SA, Wayne Ruediger, Mark Haines, Coach, Faye Luke and Scott Thulborn

President | Don Crosby

At the Bowls SA Annual General Meeting in September 2013 I was honoured to be elected as President with Janice (Jackie) Kelly OAM

as Vice President, Bob Thomas as Finance Director, Kathryn Bailey re-elected as female Metropolitan Bowling Director and Leith Gregurke (ASM) re-elected as male Country Bowling Director. Wayne Prosser commenced the second year of his two year term as male Metropolitan Director. The appointment of Jackie Kelly as Vice President created a casual vacancy for the remainder of the term of the female Country Director position, which was ultimately filled by the Board appointing Jill Ackland.

Staff changes during the year saw Erin Haines appointed as Operations Manager; Ian James, in a newly developed arm of the business, as Commercial Business Manager and Graham Saliba as Corporate Account Executive. In April Ian James and Daniel Lawlor switched roles and we welcomed Daniel in to the Bowls SA office.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the significant support that Bowls SA has received throughout the year from our sponsors and partners. Bowls SA staff have successfully negotiated agreements that benefit both the sponsor or partner and Bowls SA with a flow down benefit to member clubs either by rewards or indirectly through addition revenue to Bowls SA. The Commercial team through Daniel have been successful in securing several major partnerships and grown our social media to new and exciting levels.

On October 17, 2013, with the support of politicians Michael Pengilly, Leesa Vlahos and Nick Xenophon, Bowls SA were successful in its bid to change the Equal Opportunity Act. Open Bowls is now our primary product and this change has encouraged many men’s and women’s Associations to either begin or complete amalgamation.

The Volunteer Movie Morning held in November 2013 at the Capri Theatre, Goodwood was the first in an innovative plan to recognise and reward volunteers for their commitment to the sport. Since then, with the support of Local Councils, regional Volunteer Recognition Days, in conjunction with the Seniors Supa Series, have also been held in regional centres. Plans are being finalised to continue to roll these out across the State during 2014-15.

An education program on the IMG Whole of Sport IT system is gradually being rolled out to Clubs and Associations and while the introduction has been Don Crosby

time consuming we can now see how this new system will provide significant advances in our overall management process.

On the green we have seen some tremendous results starting with South Australia’s own Wayne Ruediger being selected for the side to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow commencing in late July 2014. This follows on from the Bowls SA ‘Adelaide Endurance’ team taking out the runner-up trophy in the inaugural Australian Premiers League at the Pine Rivers Bowling Club in Queensland. Congratulations to the APL team of Wayne Ruediger, Mark Haines and Scott Thulborn and Coach Faye Luke and a special mention to Scott on being presented with the ‘Player of the Series’ medal. The achievements of these players are an inspiration to all bowlers.

Our annual Awards night in the Magarey Room at AAMI Stadium recorded the highest attendance ever. It was a great pleasure to induct five new members to the Bowls SA Hall of Fame; Wally Bonaguro and Margaret Shillingford into the Athlete Section for their outstanding bowling prowess and John McDougall OAM, John Jenkins and Kenn Rogers into the General Section for their momentous efforts in the administration of bowls in South Australia.

At this time I believe it is appropriate to acknowledge the effort of Ivy Kluske as the immediate past President and to thank her for the high standard she set; it was most fitting that Ivy was rewarded with Life Membership of Bowls SA at the Awards Night.

I have greatly enjoyed the hospitality and fellowship as I’ve joined in with the celebrations when Clubs have achieved milestones such as their Centenary Year, as well as being able to watch some magnificent games on the greens. To be able to meet with the Club members across the State has indeed been a great pleasure.

Finally it is pleasing to report that Bowls SA is well placed in all aspects. Financially the organisation has fared well as confirmed in the Finance Directors Report; the Board are working to ensure a strong strategic future and our Staff has instigated some great initiatives that they are diligently working on.As I approach the end of this term; the role has been both rewarding and challenging but overall it has been an honour to serve as President.

UNDER 18 CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2014 Under 18 State Championships were held between January 20 and 24 which represented a significant change from previous years when the event has been held in the April School Holidays.Twenty-six boys and ten girls of varying ages from all over the State participated in Singles, Pairs and Triples played throughout the week and culminating with Finals on the Friday.Thank you to the Ascot Park Bowling Club for hosting the event, the Umpires and Markers who gave up their time to volunteer.

SAPSASA AND SASSSA CHAMPIONSHIPS The SAPSASA for Primary School students and the SASSSA Secondary Schools, 2014 Lawn Bowls Championships were held at Holdfast Bay Bowling Club on Friday April 4 and Monday April 7 respectively. The SAPSASA Competition saw 107 students participate, with 20 singles entries and 29 triples teams competing. The number of triples teams entered was slightly down on the previous year, while there were several more singles entrants. The SASSSA Competitions attracted a total of 121 participants, with 22 singles entries and 33 triples teams, an increase from the previous year entrants of 20 singles participants and 22 triples teams.Thank you to Holdfast Bay for the use of their facilities and greens; the volunteers and numerous coaches and markers who assisted on the day.

Night Owls

The long standing Night Owls competition remains an important social event and recruitment program in Clubs across the State.

Following Regional Night Owls Qualifying rounds at Ascot Park, Goolwa, Lockleys, Modbury, Murray Bridge and Murray Bridge Bowling Clubs, the top four teams from each of the seven participating regions were invited to compete in the 2014 State Night Owls Final at Walkerville on April 13.The Regional and State Night Owls Finals rounds provide another level of competition for Night Owl bowlers who are keen to expand their participation in the sport.

Clarendon team Haffey’s Heros took out the State title from runner-up Bellends of Port Noarlunga and third were Raggies of Modbury. The host Clubs, their volunteers and major sponsor Lion Nathan are thanked for their support of this

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SQUADS As a result of the loss of our Junior Development Program Sponsor, the JDS program struggled to get going during 2013-14.This has prompted an investigation into further options and ideas for a new junior development program, which is anticipated to be launched in the 2014-15 season.

SPORTS CONNECT Bowls SA has continued their partnerships with the three Sports CONNECT partners, SASRAPID, Blind Bowlers Club of SA and Disability Recreation and Sport South Australia (formerly known as Wheelchair Sports). As in previous years, these partners sent athletes to compete at the Australian Open in the Athletes with a Disability Competition and represented their organisations well. In the 2014 Australian Open, Kath Murrell claimed Silver in the ABBA Women’s final, while Jarrad Olsen also won Silver in the Men’s AUSRAPID Singles.

UNDER 18 NATIONALS

The Bowls Australia National Under 18 Championships were held at Sorrento Bowling Club, Western Australia from September 30 to October 3 with seven out of the ten South Australian players experiencing their first nationals. The highlight of the tournament was a Silver medal to the Girl’s Triples of Jacqui Bowman, Hayley Woolfitt and Lynsey Trenorden (sk). The girls had a fantastic tournament qualifying for the Gold medal match courtesy of a draw and two wins in their section.During the rest of the tournament the SA players struggled slightly on heavy greens which were better suited to some of the other States. The teams were competitive but struggled with consistency and lacked in experience, however this experience will benefit the young team in future years. At the conclusion of the championships 20 players were announced for the Under 18 Australian Squad with SA’s Tamzin Jenke earning a place in the squad. SA V VIC TEST SERIES The annual SA v VIC Test Series was held in January at the Grange Bowling Club where the State men’s side claimed the Loy Carroll Trophy for the first time since 2009 thanks to a 4-1 series win and solid team performance.

The State women’s side went into the series with a first test win, but ended up going down 1-4 at the conclusion of the series. The Under 18 girls went down 1-2 in the series, with the result coming down to the final day, while the Under 18 boys came away with a win and the Bob Middleton-Andrew Smith Perpetual Shield for the first time since 2010. The Under 25 series showcased a raft of talented bowlers and gave these up and comers a fantastic experience at State level, however both the women’s and men’s Under 25 teams went down at the conclusion of the series with the result coming down to the final day.

EMERGING PLAYERS SQUAD

The Annual Mildura series against a Victorian country representative team was held in August 2013. The SA women were not successful in defending the series against a very strong and experienced Victorian women’s outfit, winning all four tests, while the men’s team started off strongly winning their first test, but saw a reverse for the remainder going down 1-3 at the end of the series. Our inexperienced team showed great team spirit and fighting character in all tests going down in close

Australian Premier League

The inaugural Australian Premier League was played out during November 2013, at the Pine Rivers Bowling Club, Queensland.

Televised nationally on Fox Sports, the fast paced and colourful games were played under a canopy on superb greens and in front of a big crowd. Bowls SA’s ‘Adelaide Endurance’ team of Scott Thulborn, Wayne Ruediger, Mark Haines and Coach Faye Luke did South Australia proud when they took on the rest of Australia and New Zealand and came through from underdog status to take out the Silver Medal. And in a surprise announcement at the Bowls SA Awards Night, Bowls Australia CEO Neil Dalrymple

presented Scott Thulborn with the inaugural Bowls Australia ‘APL Player of the Series’ medal. Thank you to our sponsors and partners, Messenger Community News, Johnston Withers Lawyers and Barristers and in particular Tony Kerin for their support.Thank you also to ‘The Highway’ Hotel for partnering with Bowls SA to be the Adelaide Endurance’s Entertainment Hub during the APL event which saw their Sports Bar themed for Lawns Bowls with indoor mats and drinks at bowling club prices.

games with the event providing Selectors with an opportunity to view potential players for a pathway into the senior squads. The Emerging Squads were also offered some excellent match experience against quality opposition when they played a Region 6 side at Mannum in September and a combined Region 4 and Region 8 side at Nuriootpa in December.

SUPER SIXES AND AUSTRALIAN SIDES South Burnie, Tasmania was the venue for the Super Sixes and Australian Sides Championships held March 28 to April 3 and in preparation for the anticipated tough conditions SA players spent time in the lead up preparing for the expected slow and heavy greens. In the initial event, the Super Sixes, Adam Forbes and Max Kleinig claimed SA’s only medal, securing Bronze in the men’s Pairs. Both the men and women had excellent starts to the Australian Sides defeating last year’s winners NSW. As the week progressed the sides remained competitive until the home sides of Tasmania cut both teams off in their run to the finish. Highlights of the week included the SA women’s win against old foes Victoria, claiming a payback for the SA v VIC Series loss in January and the men’s Erin Haines

rink of Adam Forbes, Carl Schapel, Simon Dorr and Wayne Ruediger finishing second on the rink ladder; just missing out on the best performed rink by a shots difference. The end result was fourth place for both sides, and fourth overall. The Australian Sides Championships are scheduled to be played in Yokine, Western Australia in 2015.

AUSTRALIAN SQUADS

Season 2013-14 saw the selection of Wayne Ruediger in the Australian Squad, while Renee McPharlin and Scott Thulborn were also rewarded with selection in the Australia A Squad. Tamzin Jenke was named in the Under 18 Australian Squad and five athletes Breeanna Dickson, Simon Dorr, Mark Haines, Cassandra Harvey, Matthew Northcott and Joshua Studham were all named in the SA National Training Centre Squad, as athletes identified for development as potential international representatives. Grange Bowling Club and Australian Squad member Wayne Ruediger was selected to represent Australia in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Greens Advisory Committee

Over 100 Lawn Bowling Clubs spread across regional and rural South Australia are bowling on turf greens. The need for management and

maintenance updates continues to exist to support paid and volunteer Greenkeepers. After seminars in previous years many clubs and individuals have taken the opportunity to become members of the South Australian Bowling Greenkeepers Association which is a valuable resource for expert advice. In November 2013 Berry Bowling Systems hosted a synthetic greens care and maintenance seminar at Novar Gardens Bowling club. This proved to be very popular with attendees from both Metro and Country Clubs. The topics covered were of a general nature, it being difficult to cover the various types of surfaces

which have been installed in the time available. Clubs need to keep a close liaison with their installing companies for specific information. There was one common denominator; the base. If the integrity of the base is flawed it becomes a difficult and expensive exercise to correct.Thank you to Nigel Ryan and the members of the South Australian Bowling Greenkeepers Association for their continued support of the Bowls S.A Greens Advisory Committee and for the time and expertise they give to the volunteer green keepers across the state.

Match & Program

COUNTRY CARNIVALS & COUNTRY ROUND ROBINS

The 2014 Men’s Country Carnival held February 3 – 10, Country Round Robins February 11 – 14 and the Women’s Country Carnival, played March 24 – 30 proved again to be extremely popular however, some exceptionally hot conditions put pressure on completing some events.

PRESTIGE MEDLEY AND METRO V COUNTRY

Held over the March long weekend, this year the events were hosted by the Victor Harbor Bowling Club where despite the windy start to the events, the Club did themselves proud with great greens and meals.

The Women’s Prestige Medley on Thursday and Friday saw Eyre Peninsula emerge victorious in a thrilling one shot victory over Metro North.

On Saturday the Metro and Country teams battled it out in the Schroeter and Kennedy Shields, in conjunction with the Kenn Rogers Trophy for the Under 18’s. The Metro men prevailed in the Schroeter Shield, while the Country women claimed the Kennedy Shield for the first time since 2004-2005.

The Men’s Prestige Medley followed on the Sunday and Monday with Metro West taking out the honours for the second year in a row over Yorke Peninsula.

CHAMPIONS WEEK

The Moonta Bowling Club was host of the inaugural Champions Week held from April 24 – 30, 2014 and thanks go to them for their wonderful efforts during the week. Bowls SA would like to acknowledge in particular, Club Secretary Rob Ryan and President Kevin Coates for their work in the lead up to the event and throughout the week, and also the support of the Copper Coast Council. The event comprised a total of 140 games and players were, as always, very thankful for the commitment of the officials, both umpires and markers, who gave up their time to assist. After a downpour overnight Tuesday morning’s play was quickly moved to the Wallaroo Bowling Club to allow the Moonta green keeping team to reopen their greens for afternoon play. The event, to be hosted on a country/metro rotational basis, will be held in the metropolitan area in 2015.

METROPOLITAN PENNANTS

Congratulations to those clubs that won a Pennant during the 2013-2014 season, and gained promotion. A list of all Pennant winners is on Pages 30 and 31.

Beth Young

Umpires

Regional visits were kept to a minimum during 2013-2014 due to imminent changes to the Accreditation structure and new procedures

based on competency based training.

The new structure is made up of three modules, namely Marking, which stands alone; Measuring which also requires the Marking module, and National Umpire which is made up of all three.

The new process will be introduced on January 1, 2015 along with some changes to the laws, a new Law Book, new Handbook and resources to aid training and learning for both Tutors and candidates.

Tutors have already been provided with details of the competency based re-accreditation process and relevant papers for candidates which has been well received, with emphasis placed on what the candidate can do rather than what they know.

An elite panel of officials comprised mainly of ITOs and several umpires interested in progressing to ITO level has been set up to officiate at all levels of competition including major events.

Coaching

During 2013-2014 two Club Coaching Courses and two Introductory Coaching Courses were held which saw 58 new coaches earn their

accreditation.

In addition, one Selection Module and one Competition Module were held at the Sturt Bowling Club. However, a lack of numbers forced the cancellation of further Modules but we are hopeful that more members will look to attend these courses in the future, as they are not just suitable for coaches.

During the year Bowls Australia also implemented their new Coaching Reaccreditation process, which streamlines the procedure for reaccreditation and utilises internet videos for Coach Development.

COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD

At the Bowls SA Awards Night, West Lakes Bowling Club member, Ron Mitchell was awarded the 2013-

2014 Bowls SA Coach of the Year award in recognition of his significant contribution to the sport and bowlers through his dedication and development of coaching programs.

Ron is committed to coaching bowlers of all levels and has implemented and run a successful introduction to bowls program which has seen his Club and the sport showcased to potential members.

He has also had significant involvement in local schools’ coaching; coaching at State School Bowls events and has played a major role in encouraging other members to become coaches.

Constitution & Boundary Review

During the year, a number of Member Clubs contacted the Committee, either directly or through Bowls SA, for direction when

considering amendments or updates to their Constitutions.

Member Clubs and Associations are reminded that all contact must be to Bowls SA to enable proper records to be maintained and that all proposals for revised Constitutions or Rules and Regulations should be submitted to Bowls SA for confirmation before presenting to members for approval and adoption.

Vice President Janice Kelly OAM and Committee member Mike Brown both spent many hours

researching and suggesting answers to a range of questions, and I thank them both for their commitment. The other member of the Committee, Brian Cooper, was unable to assist due to an unfortunate accident, and we wish him well for the future.

In the year ahead the Committee has been tasked with undertaking a complete rework of the Bowls SA Constitution to align with current governance structures and requirements.

Following the amalgamation Ivy held positions on the Board of Bowls SA, as Country female Director, then Vice President from 2006 for three years until her election as President in 2009; a position she also held for three terms. A worthy recipient, Ivy was recognised with Life Membership of Bowls SA in recognition of her achievements and service to the sport of bowls in South Australia.

Four editions of the SA Bowler - October, December, February and June - were published in the 2013-2014 season with production and distribution

timelines again set to take into account inclusion of draws and promotion of specific events.

With the outcome of State Events not determined until the completion of the inaugural Champions Week, the June issue became a who’s who of winners for the season with the annual Awards Night, inaugural Club of the Year Awards and the regular end of season Pennant Write-up all included.

For the last six years the Country Carnival draws have been included in the SA Bowler and while this has been a way of providing information to all members, the need to close entries in time to produce the magazine has meant that draws were repeatedly incorrect at the time of distribution. Therefore to provide for the inevitable changes and ensure that correct draws are available the decision has been made to cease including the draws in the Bowler. In keeping with the expectation of instant news and results, utilising information technology has more and

more become the best option for delivering ‘up to the minute’ reports with Facebook and Twitter followers steadily increasing.

Taking into account all of these factors, the Bowler will now move to quarterly production, September, December, March and June.

Whilst the magazine is delivered directly to some 14,000 registered members the ability to access the magazine online expands coverage and provides a huge opportunity to promote the sport to an untold number in a worldwide audience.

Bowls SA thanks Lane Print for continuing to provide an excellent printing service and for their long standing support of Bowls SA.

Club of the Year

During the year a Committee met to consider nominations for the four categories of Club of the Year Awards.

In determining the finalists the Committee assessed Clubs against established criteria which included demonstrating a strong leadership and governance structure, promotion, sportsmanship and innovation. The following finalists showed a diversity of initiatives that put the Clubs into the running to be named Club of the Year in their category.

During the 2013/14 season Bowls SA announced six members as finalists for the Volunteer of the Year Award.

The criteria included the member’s contribution to the sport in a voluntary capacity at Club, Association, Regional and/or State level for at least the last 12 months, and was of such a standard as to set them apart from their peers in areas such as administration, promotion, membership initiatives, Club maintenance and support and fostering goodwill at all levels. The six 2013/14 finalists were Carol Boyle, Brian Gum, Bryan Lines, Margaret Morden, Bob Tuck and Dorothy Vaughan. At the Bowls SA Awards Night, Bob Tuck was named as the Volunteer of the Year in recognition of his

invaluable service to Bowls SA in setting up the IMG Competition Management System for metropolitan pennants and his ongoing training in the roll out of the system to country Associations. As a service to Clubs and bowlers around Australia, Bob has also set up and maintains the ‘get a game of bowls’ website which lists, free of charge, Club tournaments across Australia.

Robert Thomas

Finance Director

It is with pleasure that I submit the audited financial accounts for the year ended 30th June 2014. The figures show a deficit of $5,647. The budget

for the year showed a surplus of $2,383, leaving a turnaround of $8,030 after taking into account the fact that gross income fell $14,958 short of budget and that expenses were curtailed by $6,928.

There is no doubt that times are tough in the business sector and this is borne out by the fact that Sponsorship, no matter how hard we tried, fell short of last year by $25,766.

I would like to thank the Staff of Bowls SA for their professional approach and dedication to ensure that Bowls SA remains financially strong and that Member’s Funds are protected and are used to the best effect.

Volunteer of the Year Nominees, Carol Boyle, Margaret Morden, Brian Gum, Bob Tuck (winner), Brian Lines, and Dorothy Vaughan with Beth Young
