About This Workshop: This special two-day event has been designed to provide a detailed insight into
the presentation and analysis of claims under the 1999 FIDIC Contracts. The
programme has been designed to be highly practical and includes active
participation in ‘hands-on’ workshops and discussion sessions. The workshop
leader is highly experienced in the use of the FIDIC Contracts and Claims.
Who Should Attend? The training course provides the necessary knowledge for professionals from
Government Ministries and Agencies, Private Sector Employers, Consulting Engineers,
Contractors, Quantity Surveyors, Architects, Legal Advisers and all involved with the
implementation and management of large Works Contracts. It is particularly important
to those involved in preparing or managing infrastructure projects financed under MDBs'
Funds as all their Works Contracts use the FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
About the Speaker: Prof. Dr. Nael G. Bunni (BSc (1st Hon), MSc, PhD, CEng, FIEI, FICE, FIStructE, FCIArb,
FIAE, FConsEI) is a Chartered Engineer, Registered Chartered Arbitrator and Conciliator.
He is currently visiting Professor at Trinity College, Dublin University and a FIDIC
Accredited Trainer. He is Past President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators
Worldwide and of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland. He is a Special
Advisor of FIDIC’s Contracts Committee; and a member of groups of the Commission on
International Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris including the
Forum on ADR; the Construction Arbitration Working Group and the Governing Board of
the International Council for Commercial Arbitration.
Dr. Bunni is a Fellow of the Irish Academy of Engineering. He is past Chairman of FIDIC’s
Standing Committee on Professional Liability and FIDIC’s Task Committee on
Construction, Insurance and Law. He is author of “Construction Insurance and the Irish
Conditions of Contract”; “Risk and Insurance in Construction”; “The FIDIC Forms of
Contract”; and numerous technical papers.
He has acted as arbitrator, conciliator/mediator or DAB in fifty jurisdictions, having been
appointed arbitrator in numerous cases of dispute with values exceeding £450 million.
Certificates and Documentation: Participants will receive an official FIDIC course completion certificate, copies of the
FIDIC Red, Yellow & Silver 1999 Contracts Books & 2008 Gold Book will be required during the seminar and may be purchased separately. Schedule of overheads used during the seminar – to be used as “Work Book”. The language of the workshop is
English.
Workshop Fee: €1,100 per delegate. For multiple delegates, the fee for the 2
nd and subsequent
delegates is € 1000 per delegate. The full fee is payable in advance and includes the cost of all lunches, refreshments,
tuition, course certificate and documentation.
