Bengal tiger

Its populations have been estimated at 1,706–1,909 in India, 440 in Bangladesh, 124–229 in Nepal and 67–81 in Bhutan. the tigers can be located in the forest throughout India.With its gestation period ranging from 4-7 months almost all offspring are born in the months from April to December.

Endangerment

the Bengal tigers IUCN status is endangered which means that there are very few Bengal tigers left in the world. the biggest threat to the Bengal tiger is loss of habitat and illegal poaching.

• In terms of predators the only one that the Bengal tiger has is the human population

Things that we can do

• The things that we can do to save the Bengal tiger is donate to the tiger research funds, buy forest friendly products, and avoid the use and buying of anything made from tiger skin or any other Bengal tiger body part.

What is being done

• The WWF is currently trying to double the Bengal Tiger population by 2022.

• Zoo's are taking in the Bengal tigers to protect them and nurture them and to also keep them out of harms way.
