NEW YORK - 2008 FREE A PUBLICATION OF NY BOOK FAIR EXPO, INC

In this edition Book Press is proud to present a photo-essay of an underground journey in the NewYork Subway system in Manhattan by the recognized Colombian photographer Nereo Lopez Meza. The project started months ago, when the photographer created an inventory of the murals in thedifferent platforms of the subway. Murals, are very poppular, very easy to photograph, but themurals came alive when my eyes connected the regular newyorker, who goes to work everyday, who passes by the walls full of colors and faces. Here we have an unique form of art. What my eyesaw is in the picture is a combination of different civilizations, cultures, and art said Nero. At his 87years Nereo is walking the streets of New York looking for different angles, in search of the rightmoment to capture an unique piece of this big city. Page 5

Special guest Dominic Carter authorof No Mommas Boy

Growing up, when Dominics mother wasnt around, she was probably in a mental hospital or maybe she waswrestling with an abusive relationship. Maybe she washallucinating on the psychotropic drugs she was given.Or maybe she was simply depressed. But she neverexpressed any remorse for breaking his heart. His mothernever said she was sorry.

To her dying day, Laverne Carter never toldDominic she was sorry. Laverne never healed physicallyor emotionally. And now Dominic Carter has interviewedPresidents, heads of states, and movie stars. Assignmentshave taken him around the world and back. From Israelto Japan, Somalia, and Persian Gulf. He made moremoney then any child could imagine, especially beingraised in the tough New York City housing projects ofthe South Bronx, and a product of Public School. Yetsomething kept nagging him. He was never reallyhappy... what could it be? It was his mother and thesecret that he had compartmentalized for all these years.

He had to get this secret out in the open so thatDominic could be free of the baggage, anger, andfrustration that he had bestowed amongst himself andso many people. No Mommas Boy is his story... hisstruggles, and his journey all the way to the very top. Hecover the most powerful people in the world, and theyhad no clue what happened to him. His story will bringtears to your eyes.

Poemario `Sinasco deDiego Vargas. ColombiaDomingo 17, 6:30 a 9:00pm.
