programThe Careers Australia VET in Schools curriculum is developed specifically for secondary school students and delivered by qualified educators with industry experience.
Available to students in years 10, 11 and 12, our courses are flexible and responsive to student and school needs. Training is delivered either at school or at nearby campuses or training facilities. Work placement or experience is also offered with some courses.
Our VET in Schools program is suitable for students with a range of academic capabilities. High achieving students have the opportunity to fast track their pathway to university qualification or gain key skills that will secure entry level positions. It also provides students with the opportunity to gain an insight into possible career and study pathways in a more practical learning environment.

Careers Australia courses are recognised by most major Australian universities. Successful completion of a diploma can result in up to 12 months credit towards like tertiary qualifications.

In Queensland, we have an articulation agreement with Southern Cross University. This provides certificate III, IV or diploma graduates with a guaranteed placement.
+ UPREP to help transition to university
To support students who are on a pathway to university, Careers Australia has incorporated a University Preparation and Readiness Program (UPREP) into all our diploma programs.
The UPREP has been designed to assist students to develop the study skills to succeed in an adult learning environment. Students participate in workshops that cover topics such as independent learning, where to find support at university, guidance for writing assessments, database searching and referencing.

Fee-Free training in Qld Year 12 graduates can access fee-free training in high priority areas if they start training with Careers Australia within a year of leaving school.
The fee-free training will apply to high priority qualifications available under the Queensland Government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee program or User Choice program.
To be eligible students must;
●● Permanently reside in Queensland;●● Be an Australian or New Zealand citizens or eligible visa holder;●● Enrol and start training by the end of the calendar year following the
completion of year 12; and●● Have completed Year 12 in Queensland and hold a Senior Statement issued
