C h a s F a g a n Artist

A self-taught artist, Chas is a nationally acclaimed and gifted sculptor and painter, who creates classic, yet energetic pieces that capture his subjects. Chas’  ability  to  combine  his  artistic  gifts  with  his  knowledge  of  history  has  led  to  several  high-­‐profile  commissions.    His  statue  of  President  Reagan  stands  in  the  Rotunda  of  the  U.S.  Capitol.    He’s  designed  and  created  a  “young  Neil  Armstrong”  statue  for  Purdue  University,  including  a  surrounding  plaza  with  moon-­‐boot  prints.    His  sculptures  of  Mother  Teresa  and  Rosa  Parks  were  carved  into  the  Narthex  of  Washington  National  Cathedral.    His  monumental-­‐scale  sculpture  of  a  horse  and  rider,  featuring  American  Revolutionary  War  figure  Captain  James  Jack,  is  one  of  the  most  iconic  pieces  in  Charlotte,  North  Carolina.

Eastman  Johnson  Award  (2005).    Graciously  given  by  the  Union  League  Club  of  New  York,  in  recognition  of  “individuals  whose  unique  contribution  to  art  and  culture  has  elevated  the  ideals  of  American  citizenship.”
