Page 20: Creative Approaches to Making Art

Creativity

• Number of responses- did you do all 12?• Differentiation from the norm or average

answers. Unique individual response• Risk-taking- something new- outside your

comfort zone. Take a chance.• Elaboration- detail and time spent on it.• Experimentation-layering supplies and

combining them. Mixed media

Page 21: Creative Approaches to Making Art

• How is this a different approach?

Page 22: Creative Approaches to Making Art

• Stylize the objects.

• Add designs• Thick and thin

lines.• Black and

white

Page 23: Creative Approaches to Making Art

• Same as slide before

• Different use of color and stylization

Page 24: Creative Approaches to Making Art

• How was this done?

• How could you translate this to your object?

Page 25: Creative Approaches to Making Art

• Warm colors with black• Add patterns and designs• Linoleum (Stay after

school)

Page 26: Creative Approaches to Making Art

• Painting or chalk on collage background

Page 27: Creative Approaches to Making Art

• White oil pastel with water color over it.

Mosaic• Monochromatic color scheme

• Add other objects.

Page 33: Creative Approaches to Making Art

Draw it on top of writing. Paint it. Cut it up into pieces.

Page 34: Creative Approaches to Making Art

Think about unique ways to solve this problem:• You will need to spend time on

this at home to finish all 12.• Stay after Tues-Fri for more

time.• Use the internet for ideas.

• Think smaller to get them finished.

• Check your name off on sheet for how many you’ve completed so far.

Page 35: Creative Approaches to Making Art

Grade for assignment• 12 artworks made is a separate 50 pt grade. 4 pts

each artwork that is “complete”.

• Then each artwork is 30 pts each.– Includes the object– Composition is balanced and interesting– Detail/ effort. use of supplies– Creativity – risk taking – differentiation from the norm

• Overall Unity is 20 pts. How do they match?• You will receive a 0 for any artworks less than 12.

Take 12- Approaching Creativity CritiqueObjective: You will analyze your work and classmates’ pieces in order to evaluate what you learned and your creative potential.DRILL:1. Take out all of your artworks (all 12) that you made with

same object.2. If you paid a lab fee. You will get a portfolio. 3. Lay the portfolio out and open. Place all artworks out on it.4. Use the blue scrap paper to number your pieces. Cut out
