Square, simply pick up stitches along edges of

previous Squares.

InstructionsNote: Blanket is worked diagonally from bottom left corner.Squares are joined tog as Blanket is knit. The first row of subsequent Squares begins from picked up edges along previous Squares.

Square IWith pair of needles and A, cast on 31 sts.1st row: (WS). Knit. 2nd row: K14. Sl1. K2tog. psso. Place marker on last st. K14.3rd and alt rows: Knit.4th row: Knit to 1 st before marked st. Sl1. K2tog. psso. Knit to end of row.Rep last 2 rows to 3 sts.Next row: Sl1. K2tog. psso. Fasten off.

Joining Squares: 1st Square of Row 2: **With B and pair of needles, cast on 15 sts. Pick up and knit 16 sts along right side edge of 1st Square of Row 1. 31 sts.Beg with a 1st row, work as given for Square I.**2nd Square of Row 2: ***With B, pick up and knit 16 sts along top edge of 1st Square of Row 1. 1st Square of Row 3: With C, work from ** to ** as given for 1st Square of Row 2, picking up sts along right side edge of 1st Square of Row 2.2nd Square of Row 3: ****With C, pick up and knit 15 sts along 1st Square of Row 2. Pick up and knit 16 sts along side edge of next Square of Row 2. Beg with a 1st row, work as given for Square I.****3rd Square of Row 3: With C, work from *** to *** as given for 2nd Square of Row 2, picking up sts along top edge of 2nd Square of Row 2.

Cont joining Squares in this manner, following color sequence as shown in Diagram.

Side borders: With circular needle and A, pick up and knit 150 sts up right side of Blanket. Do not join.Working back and forth across needle in rows, knit 2 rows. Cast off knitwise (WS). Rep for left side.

Top and bottom borders: With circular needle and A, pick up and knit 139 sts across top edge of Blanket. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, knit 2 rows. Cast off knitwise (WS).Rep for bottom edge.
