WooFTunes Tip for Day

What can you do to help cope better with the loss of a dog?

1. In many ancient traditions, there is a belief that the spirit of the deceased stay very close to the loved one for that first year. One thing you can do is collect some of your dog’s hair, the last food that they ate, a collar and a scrap from their bed and put them into a little bundle. Then put that bundle on a table, and say some prayers … praying for your dog, remembering your dog and still caring for your dog. At the end of that year, take that bundle, burn it in a fire and release the ashes to moving water and that will set the spirit off. This is what many cultures believe and it has helped many people cope and overcome the loss of their dog.
