•Deposit DOIs and metadata to enable inbound linking–As soon as content is registered in CrossRef,

it becomes visible for linking by other participants

•Create outbound links from references by querying the CrossRef metadata database–Adds value by improving user experience

Deterrence Factor

Sponsors can provide CrossCheck Plagiarism

Screening for AJPP Journals

• Sponsor will pay discounted combined annual fee

• BUT, we have to talk with iParadigms about fee waivers for per-manuscript checking fees

• 75 cents per manuscript for fewer than 2000 documents

http://www.crossref.org/02publishers/20pub_fees.html#crosscheck

But, remember the CrossRef Rules

• You have to be assigning CrossRef DOIs before you can participate in any optional services like CrossRef

In Summary

• CrossRef provides infrastructure to enable publishers to enhance their content and services

• CrossRef services drive traffic to publishers content

• CrossRef services will enable publishers to highlight the value they add to content

• CrossRef services will give researchers useful tools to make decisions about content
