What made the programme all themore enriching was the focus on real-life scenarios and the thrust on the participants to developnew insights. The sessions on cultural intelligence, coupled with insights on ancient Chinesephilosophy, brought out the best of management practices of the East and the West. I alsoappreciated the effort towards creating a diverse group which enabled us to learn from thevaried experience that each participant had to offer. All in all, an excellent programme. “The Nanyang Business School started offering the English EMBA programme in 2007. It hassince grown from strengths to strengths, not only in terms of the number, quality and diversityof participants, but also in the range of EMBA options. Our EMBA programme is noted forseveral distinctive characteristics.

First, we carefully select our participants to ensure a good mix of backgrounds so as to enrichthe classroom learning experience. Hence, we avoid taking more than two participants fromthe same company/organisation. Second, our instructors are highly experienced, the majorityhave consulted/conducted executive programmes for companies. Some even sit as directors, consultants and advisors to corporate boards/organisations. As such, they bring to the classroomimmense industry and commercial experiences. Third, we plan and design our curriculum tosuit the needs of our participants. In particular, we take a very practical and strategic approachto problem-solving. Fourth, we provide participants with unique opportunities to experiencethe best education from the east and west. Participants are given the opportunity to completecourses in the United States (including visits to companies in the Silicon Valley) and/or Europe. Finally, we tailor our programme to the specific needs of the industry. For example, the EMBAfor SMEs enjoy tremendous support and endorsement from SPRING Singapore. Our EMBAin Shipping, Offshore & Finance has also attracted a wide spectrum of support and candidatesfrom various sectors of the industry.

In sum, we at NBS, do not only talk about our programmes. We will constantly strive to makeyour experience a richer and more beneficial one through continuous improvement andrefinement, and to ensure that you get the best value for your education.”

Why I Chose theNanyang EMBAProgramme

To be able to pursue a graduate programme after graduating 17years ago in one of the best universities in Asia has indeed fulfilledmy lifelong dream. I was amazed and impressed with theprofessionalism and enthusiasm that the Nanyang BusinessSchool’s management, authority and key professors havedemonstrated in interacting with students, their willingness tolisten to students' feedback and needs, with all the keen intentionto create, structure, design and offer the best to the students.

My tenure as a student has been truly enriching. The diversity among the students,in terms of seniority and experience, culture, and the industry that they represent, have contributed much to the impact and success of the programme. The segmentin UC Berkeley has provided me with a benchmark on "quality education in a renownedtop university" and I now appreciate and treasure my association with NBS even more.

This programme has totally re-engineered my way of planning and running my day-to-day business and long term business expansion plans, succession, sustainabilityand financial readiness. My thought processes have changed and improved tremendously, especially in the way I deal with cash flow, accounting and financial management.

I would highly recommend the NTU-NBS EMBA programme to those who are keento upgrade their business and management acumen. You will gain a higher level ofpersonal confidence, work competency and readiness in reacting to the fast changing, increasingly uncertain and highly globalised business landscape.
