Membership For All We believe everyone deserves to experience the Y, so the Findlay YMCA offers financial assistance to individuals and families who might otherwise not be able to afford membership or program fees. Ask a staff member about financial assistance. It’s easy to apply and the Y does everything it can to make the Y a place for all. Staffing All staff members are selected for their maturity, dedication, enthusiasm, and desire to work with children. Men and women are recruited from colleges and universities from around the country and have years of experience working with children. Our entire staff are subject to local and national background checks, are CPR and First-Aid certified, and participates in an intensive week-long training program that covers safety, supervision, counseling, and camp procedures. Findlay YMCA average counselor-to-camp ratios exceed a state guidelines to ensure that your child receives the best care and attention possible. If you would like to work with us this summer, please submit a staff application before April 1, 2017. Staff applications are available at www.findlayymca.org. Refund/ Transfer Policy Registration fees are covered in the total session fee. Registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. Up to the Friday prior to the beginning of the specific camp session, all funds, less the deposit, are refundable and transferable within other day camp programs. On the Friday prior to the session all funds are non-refundable and non-transferable. A written physician-authorized note verifying illness or injury is required in order to transfer funds to a future registration once the session has begun. If a camper fails to show for a registered session without notice, there will be no refund issued. In cases of homesickness, dismissal, or voluntary withdrawal, there will be no refund of any fees.

POWER RANGERS: July 12th Morphin Time! Training camp for strength, power,

loyalty, love and leadership. Which one are you?

PRINCESS PARADE: July 17th-18th Become an official princess. Join us in the royal court

to enjoy dancing, crafts, games, and stories. Etiquette

and poise will be taught at the Teddy Bear Tea Party.

Parents are invited to attend a brief performance at

11:00am on the last day to watch the Princess Parade.

Campers should wear their favorite princess outfit on

the last day for the parade. (2 day camp)

PURE IMAGINATION: Session 10: July 31st-Aug 4th Come with me, And you'll be In a world of pure imagination, Take a look And you'll see, Into your imagination. Campers will explore the depths of the world of make believe. Campers will experiment to make water rainbows, slay dragons, and go on a quest to recover the treasure stolen by evil monsters. This week will be nothing but fun, adventure and excitement. Schedule: 9:00AM-1:00pm YMCA Member: $35/Program Participant $55 CAMP YMCA: Session 11: Aug. 7th-Aug 11th This camp will help build strong campers in SPIRIT, MIND, and BODY. Sport YMCA gear and cheer on the team as campers compete in a variety of sport game challenges. Campers will also learn the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork during this week of spirited fun. NEW! This summer KinderCamp introduces young

children to summer day camp. They have the same

fun as the big kids, but they stay closer to home and

keep shorter hours. Activities are guided by weekly

themes and campers swim twice a week, enjoy story-

telling, music, sports, games, and a weekly field trip.

(Children must be fully potty trained to participate.)

Before and After Care Sessions: 1-11 Before and after care gives parents the option of extra care at the YMCA. This is an informal time when children are supervised while they play a variety of self-directed games and activities. The fee includes both before and after care, regardless of which options are used or how many days are used. Schedule: 7:30-8:30am and 4:30-6:00pm YMCA Member: $30/Program Participant $50 YMCA Camp Readers Each day in our all day camps, as part of our Camp Readers program, we spend 30 minutes engaged in quiet reading. Counselors and volunteers are available to assist with reading and helping children to build confidence and attain reading goals. Aloha Summer: Session 1: May 30-June 2* Say “Aloha” to Y camp! We will be kicking off the summer by creating our own luau! Have fun this week playing various Hawaiian themed games, musical beach towels, beach ball bonanza, hula hoops, and more! Crafts and activities include magic sand, pineapple pops, temporary tattoos and leis, Hawaiian musical instruments, and erupting volcanoes. Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm YMCA Member: $44/Program Participant $80 Go Green!: Session 2: June 5-June 9 Join us as we celebrate everything that Earth offers. We’ll enjoy the great outdoors by going on a hike at Van Buren State Park, creating bird feeders using recycled materials and making guitars out of cereal boxes. We’ll also talk about how recycling works and all of its benefits. Campers will also participate in a community clean-up. Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm YMCA Member: $55/Program Participant $100 Olympics: Session 3: June 12-June16 Embrace the Olympic spirit of triumph and excellence by challenging your limits! We’re bringing the Olympic Games to the YMCA! We’ll have a friendly competition in the Olympic events. We’ll have competitions in throwing, running, jumping and more! Campers will even get to create their own Olympic medal. Get ready to bring it on and may the best camper win! Come with us as we blast off into outer space for a week! We’ll explore outer space from the stars to the black holes, play Alien vs. Humans Kickball, create sparkly playdough ,and make your own rocket ship that you can blast around in. KidVenture Day Camp is located at the Findlay Family YMCA, with kid-friendly and transformed Multi-purpose Room as its home base. A full-day camp experience, it is designed with a wide range of activities guaranteed to expand your child’s horizons. Kids have fun while making new friends, developing new skills, learning core values, building self-confidence, appreciating team work and growing in self-reliance. Campers will participate in a variety of activities both indoors and outdoors based on weekly themes. Swimming, arts and crafts, and trips to local parks are also offered every week.

Time Travel: Session 5: June 26-June 30 Travel through the eras as we explore from the Prehistoric Times, Roman Empire, to the future and beyond. We’ll build robotic hands, pyramids, have chariot races, create hieroglyphics, gem mine and build a time capsule. Get ready to go through time in one week! Campers are encouraged to dress in their favorite decade’s style. Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm YMCA Member: $55/Program Participant $100 Party In the USA: Session 6: July 3-July 7* Come with us as we travel from the mountains, to the prairies to the oceans white with foam! We will participate in activities that celebrate our country, pride in our land and cultures. Activities and games include Blastball, four square, giant chalk map of the United States, pie throwing contest, watermelon roll derby, and strawberry banana blueberry kabobs, we will make igloos for Alaska, learn line dancing and roping for Texas, and learn about Native American culture. Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm YMCA Member: $44/Program Participant $80 Spilsh, Splash in the Summer: Session 7: July 10-July 14 Dive into the heat of summer with water week! Splash and explore this week while learning about the won-ders of water, the creatures of the sea, and our amazing blue planet! Create a splash painting, bottled waves, a rain stick, and more. Participate in a water taste test, echolocation, swimming, super slip and slide, water balloons and get ready to have a wonderfully wet water week! Game Show Mania: Session 8: July 17-21 Campers, are you ready? Then “COME ON DOWN.” Get ready to experience a variety of games such as Camper Feud, Minute to Win It, or the Amazing Race. Campers will dress up their counselor for America’s Next Top Model and travel the world in one day during the camp carnival! Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm YMCA Member: $55/Program Participant $100 Animation Domination: Session 9: July 24th-28th Join us as we recreate some of your child’s favorite movies! Not just an arts and crafts, this camp helps campers develop a sense of design as we explore the world of animation and cartoons from superheroes, to Pokémon, to Garfield. We’ll be creating monsters, building your own angry bird, movie trivia and other fun games and crafts that are related to their favorite movies. Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm YMCA Member: $55/Program Participant $100 Summer Fiesta: Session 10: July 31st-August 4th ¡Ay Caramba! Join in on our celebration and let’s have a FIESTA! Try your luck at hitting our piñata, playing fiesta inspired games, dancing to the Macarena, and learning ZUMBA! We will have fun learning about the Spanish culture and let’s not forget about our camp fire nachos! NO SIESTA for this week! Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm YMCA Member: $55/Program Participant $100 Summer Flashback: Session 11: August 7th-11th Enjoy the final week of camp by jumping back to some of our most memorable camp experiences. Campers will enjoy many of the various activities, games, experiments and fun that were used in the previous weeks of camp. One day they could be creating a secret potion in their laboratory and the next day they could be piecing together their own superhero costume. You’re only up for surprises during this week of camp.
