  • Since Aristotle, man has organized his knowledge vertically in seperate and unrelated groups - Science, Religion,

Sex, Work, etc. The main emphasis in his language, his system of storing knowledge,

has been the identification of objects, rather than relationships between objects.

He is now forced to use his tools of reasoning separately and for one situation

at a time. Had man been able to see past this hypnotic way of thinking, to distrust it (as Einstein did)and to resystemize his

knowledge so that it all would be related horizontally, he would enjoy the perfect sanity and the endless wave that is life.

We here at Gnu adopt this philosophy and encourage you to think horizontally, and

are very excited to introduce you to our new logo which encompasses all that is horizontal

    knowledge: TRIANGLE. SQUARE. CIRCLE.

the technological break- throughs we made by simply

being curious. we try new things!

Look at your toes. Now... look at your heels...hmm they look different. Weird?! Asymmetric sidecuts and construction to balance the different turning mechanics required for heelside and toe side turns. Your body is asymmetric your snowboard should be asymmetric. Ride better have more fun balanced through asymmetry!

Every Gnu is handmade by snowboarders with jobs in the USA. Gnus are built with tough and fast UHMW external sidewalls and impact resistant end grain internal sidewalls. Ultra-light weight rugged "polymer bumper" sandwich tip and tails are standard on all Gnus. Steel edges are used for control along the contact area and "tucked in" just past the contacts for minimum spin weight... heavy unnecessary steel edge is eliminated from the tips and tails. Banana Tech, EC2, or C2 BTX camber Banana tech combo and Magne-Traction serrated edges are far from standard but are standard on every Gnu snowboard.

Serrated edges give great edge hold all over the mountain especially on hard pack and blue ice!

    Pickle Tech.

    EXPERIMENT!

Banana Tech. All terrain rocker placed specifically between your feet where it belongs. Full tip-to-tail edge contact when you stand on your board for all terrain performance. Banana Tech is easy to ride, rips the hardpack and ice, kills the jibs and floats unbelievably. Bananas!EC2 Banana Tech: The perfect quiver killer. Rides halfway between Banana Tech and C2. Effortlessly floats the pow, kills the jibs and has the pop and tip-to-tail stability to stomp whatever you launch. Banana Rocker between your feet, elliptical camber at the tips and tails. Impossible Series. Dont eat the brown Banana.C2 Power Banana Tech: C2 Floats the pow, kills the jumps and steeps and has the pop and tip to tail stability to stomp whatever you launch. Banana Tech Rocker between your feet, camber at the tips and tails. The perfect solution for aggressive power snowboarding.

Magnesium is impossibly light, incredibly strong, tastes bitter, is explosively flammable and burns white hot. Experiment and expand your mind with the Magnesium fiber technology we built into every Gnu Impossible Asym. Sym. Sync. Pickle. Warning do not store your Impossible near woodstoves, fireplaces or Pat Bridges.

In 2009 the world's fastest growing trees in the Gnu Eco Timber farm benefited from a combination of moist evenings, diffused daylight sunshine and being on the north American avian flywayabundant natural nitrogen from goose and duckdroppings resulted in a exceptional harvest of long fibered lightweight poppy woods that we call "nature's fiberglass". This very exceptional crop has been carefully seasoned and built into cores and is the light poppy center of our 2012 Gnu Snowboards.Columbian Gold: At Gnu we spend a lot of time experimenting in the forest. Our latest favorite arboreal discovery is fast growing renewable Columbian Gold. Incredibly light, strong, poppy wood truly is a weird and wonderful foundation for performance snowboards.

Liquid crystallinity is achieved through the heating of a polymer past its melting point, during the cooling phase polymers form highly organized linearly alignedself-reinforcingstructures resulting in incredible mechanical properties. Strength, chemical and fire resistance.Strength in a fiber allows us to use less material to achieve the desired physical performance translating into a lighter weight composite. LCP also has a very low vibration frequency and with 10 times the strength of titanium LCP was used as the foundation for interplanetary Mars lander tires. Built into a Gnusnowboard these strong light, damp aramid polyester fibers quiet chatter from rough terrain and create an incredibly smooth, poppy, lightweight ride.

EC2 Banana Tech: The perfect quiver killer. Rides halfway between Banana Tech and C2. Effortlessly floats the pow, kills the jibs and has the pop and tip-to-tail stability to stomp whatever you launch. Banana Rocker between your feet, elliptical camber at the tips and tails. Anatomical oddities: Your body is asymmetric heel to toe your board should be too. Balance through Asymmetry: This board is designed to work with your bodys natural asymmetries...balancing your toe and heelside playing into the strengths of each sides mechanics to enhance control and performance.Toe side: More finesse through your toes and precise fingertip like edge control. Increased angle of edge attack can be achieved through cumulative articulation of toe, ankle and knee joints. Balance.Heelside: More power through the heels. A lower angle of edge attack and more power can be achieved due to natural joint mechanics. Stomp.Minimal adaptation: The Impossible A.S.S. pickle is ergonomically designed around your natural kinesiology so you don't have to adapt mentally or physically to use it. Intuition and a dream is all you need. Imperceptible Perfection:Initially A.S.S. seems mind alteringly weirdbut what it really means is an easy ride and lots of fun. Ride an A.S.S Pickle and you will feel a difference for the first few turns as your body and mind expect what snowboarding used to feel like and then your body and board will synchronize into perfect harmony and you will achieve a state we call imperceptible design perfection and new levels of joy and performance will be realized.

  • Danny was a grom once, now he is an American hero keeping kids off camber. Bananas are the perfect. Kids will learn faster, fall less and have way more fun. If you have kids, or sell to kids, or sell to parents of kids, you have a social and moral obligation to put them on a Banana with Magne-Traction. Treacherous camber was okay for you and Danny, but not the next generation. Please dont let kids ride camber! Handbuilt in the U.S.A. by snowboarders with jobs!

  • I've grown up with Gnu. Well, maybe my age already defined me as a grown up when I started snowboarding, but I don't think I qualified in many other ways. I started riding Lib boards in 1993, and from there began my relationship and pro career with Gnu. The details and timelines are a little foggy now, but Mervin definitely shaped my snowboarding and my life from that point on. Gnu introduced me to the future, and what was possible with a good snowboard, good people, and a sense of humor. My first pro-model was released in 95/96 and although Gnu had been designing boards to fit their female riders for years, it was one of the first women's signature models in snowboarding. I am extremely fortunate to have had a sponsor back me throughout my different shred phases, and to have had the opportunity to develop the Gnu girls program from the beginning. Along the way, I've met many girls and women who have inspired me and contributed to snow-boarding in their own ways. This line is dedicated to their unique qualities, skills, attitudes, and styles. Gnu girls continues to stand out among other women's brands because we have Mervin technology and quality to lean on, but we also have a solid team of riders and believers, the kind of girls that inspire creativity, fun and all different kinds of magic!

Designed by Pendleton. The Pendleton collaboration was born from a love of the Northwest. Pendleton and Mervin share a commitment to craftsmanship and making our products in our own factories in the USA. Pendleton's colorful Day of the Dead woven blanket inspired this B-Pro graphic. More than 3,000 years ago indigenous peoples of Mexico celebrated a ritual honoring their dead ancestors. Today, it is celebrated on Nov. 1st, All Saints Day, with festivities honoring the dead. The festive skulls, musicians and marigolds capture the spirit of the celebration. With this board we can take every opportunity to celebrate life and death throughout the winter, and warm up with a cozy blanket at the end of every day!

  • This is the board that keeps setting the standard for womens boards. Its classic C2BTX / Magne-Traction combination is the perfect balance of camber at each end and Banana Tech between your feet. The camber gives the board end to end stability and pop for big landings, critical lines and aggressive riders while the Banana between your feet makes for great carving on hardpack, ice and easy float in powder and broken variable snow conditions. New this year is LCP for a lightweight, strong, and smooth ride. As the longest running womens pro-model it has picked up more gold than any other womens board. It continues to win awards and fans while riding onto the podium of every major event in snowboarding. Dont put this board into a box, its good for everything and our team proves it on big mountains, parks, pipes and everywhere else they take it. For the first time in 26,000 years, the sun, moon, and constel-lation Pleides aligned in a solar eclipse directly over Mt. Shasta. I entrusted my magical B-Pro split board and together we made the pilgrimage up the mighty south face to the summit. At 6:26pm on May 20, the moon slid completely in front of the sun and a portal opened, denoted by a series of eight radiating circular rainbows of which my shadow was the center. If I jumped, I could spend my life living among the Lemurians in the girth of Mt. Shasta. It was a tough decision, but in the end Irealized that split boards would have no use inside the mountain, andI still had plans to ride mine. I waved to the Lemuri-ans as the moon slipped by the sun and the portal closed. Then I strapped into my B-Pro split board and the lovers, the pegasus unicorns, and I rode off the summit of Mt. Shasta in perfect corn snow conditions. My soul has been recharged and I have no regrets.
