Description• DIR Technologies was formed by SCP

Vitalife II via a spin-out from SCD, a leading Israeli developer and manufacturer of infrared detectors and laser diodes for defense and military purposes

• DIR applies infrared technology in a variety of non-contact pharmacological tests, such as identification of counterfeit drugs through the original package, and rigorous in-line quality assurance for the manufacture and packaging of drugs by the leading pharma companies

Beta-O2 Technologies

• Beta-O2 has developed a bio-artificialsubstitute pancreas for diabetic patients

• The ß-Air is an implantable device thatcontains islets of Langerhans (insulin andglucagon producing cells). The cells areprotected from the host’s immune systemand supplied with oxygen

• Following extensive pre-clinical testing, Beta-O2 performed its first-in-human implantation in a leading diabetes center in Germany during 2012

• Following seven months of implantation: “For the first time it has been shown that allogeneic islets integrated into an oxygenated macrochamber can survive and function after transplantation in man without any immunosuppressive therapy ….... This finding is outstanding and a case sui generis.”

Sensible Medical Innovations

Description• Founded in May 2007, Sensible is developing the

SafePatchCHF, a non-invasive system for continuous monitoring of Congestive Heart Failure patients

• SafePatch is based on Remote Dielectric Sensing (ReDS) technology, which employs electromagnetic reflectometry using ultra-wide-band frequencies transmitted at very low intensities

• Technology was adapted from military application utilized by Sensible’s founders during their service in special technology units of the Israeli Defense Forces

• The SafePatch measures lung fluid content, respiratory rate and heart rate which, combined, provide an early indicator of heart failure de-compensation

• The market potential for CHF monitoring is estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars per year

Where Life and Science Mean BusinessPocared Diagnostics

Description

• Pocared Diagnostics has developed an innovative diagnostic system that provides physicians with real-time detection and identification of pathogens

• The standard (culture-based) testing process typically requires 30 hours to identify the infectious agent; Pocared’s solution will be able to provide bacterial identification within 1-2 hours

• Pathogen identification is made possible using the proprietary Pocared Optical Signature™ and Pocared Optical Fingerprint™

• The high-throughput system is compact, user-friendly and does not require the use of reagents

• Has become well-known to potential acquirers, who are awaiting results of clinical trials in first half of 2013
