The Management and Human Resources Department in the College of Business Administration at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Strategic Management at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2016.

The Position: The Department seeks a candidate who strives for excellence in both research and teaching in a highly collegial working environment. The new faculty is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, maintain a well-defined stream of quality research, advise students, and demonstrate a commitment to participate in department, college, university and professional service. The candidate will be asked to teach primarily undergraduate and graduate courses in Strategic Management. Applicants whose work incorporates a global perspective and a commitment to diversity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a doctorate in Strategic Management/Business Policy from an AACSB International accredited business school (or its international equivalent). ABD students who will have completed their doctorate by August 31, 2016, may also apply. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to publishing in quality peer-reviewed journals in their areas of expertise. Candidates must have exemplary teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels commensurate with experience and must provide evidence of, or potential for, working effectively with multicultural constituencies and a diverse student body.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with grant writing, relevant professional industry experience, and willingness to develop relationships with the business community are highly desirable. In addition, experience teaching other management courses such as Principles of Management, International Management, and Entrepreneurship is also highly desirable.

Compensation and Support Environment: Compensation is commensurate with experience. To support scholarship, the college provides a Behavioral Lab equipped with Medialab and Sona-Systems subject pool management, additional databases such as SSCI Web of Science, Compustat, and WRDS (Wharton Research Data Services). The College of Business Administration and the Management and Human Resources (MHR) Department: The College of Business Administration offers comprehensive undergraduate programs as well as MBA and MS in Business Administration.
