The Dream Chef Mark met Miss Kim in Vail Colorado back in 2007. They both were part of an opening team for the Arrabelle, a destination hotel for Rock Resorts. Chef Mark wooed Miss Kim with his undeniable charm and they married in Maui in 2010. Chef Mark had always said he wanted his own restaurant, so the two put their heads together and created what is now That Boy Good! The Talent Chef Mark got his first job in the kitchen at the age of 13, and he never looked back. Mark has held positions in some of the most prestigious restaurants, casinos, and resorts in America. A few to mention are, The Ritz Carlton, Caesars Palace, RockResorts and The Beau Rivage. But his proudest moments were his time in the US Navy. He served on the USS Chosin in Hawaii among other duty stations and traveled all over the world cooking for some of the finest Military personnel. Chef credits his mother (Ms. Lequita) for his passion of cooking and his undying love for southern comfort food. He say’s that “I am blessed to have been raised by a momma that kept an old coffee can full of bacon fat on the stove to cook with”.

The Brains If Chef is the talent, then there is no doubt that Miss Kim is the Brains. Miss Kim has been in the hospitality business for over twenty five years. She has worked every position imaginable, and has done it in some of America’s most iconic settings. From the Denali range of Alaska, to the waters of Lake Powell, to the Rocky Mountains. Miss Kim has been on a lifelong adventure in the food and beverage business and has loved every minute. Our Town Miss Kim and Chef are so excited to be in Oceanside and are proudly committed to supporting locals, Military and local charities. Miss Kim lived in Oceanside in early 2000. Victor, their son, was born in Oceanside in 2001. This is where the love of Oceanside first started for her. She introduced Mark to Oceanside in 2011 where he instantly fell in love and knew this was a place he could call home.
