The points were then weighted based on each feature’s popularity in our 2017 mobile banking survey. The weights were based on responses to two questions in the survey: one about what app features mobile banking customers used the most and one about desired features that respondents identified as missing from their mobile banking experience. The 2017 Mobile Money survey was fielded between Jan. 26 and Feb. 1 from a random sample of 4,000 U.S. mobile bank app users aged 18 and older. S&P Global Market Intelligence weighted the data to be nationally representative. Results from the survey, which was conducted online, have a margin of error of +/-1.6% at the 95% confidence level based on the sample size of 4,000. Features that were available in all ranked bank apps are included in the ranking but not shown in the chart (access other accounts, check balance, pay bills, photo check deposit, review transactions and transfer money between accounts). Weighted ranking excludes certain features not assessed in the mobile banking survey (rewards program, Spanish language option, photo bill pay and cardless ATM access).2 BBVA Compass is a trade name of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA subsidiary Compass Bank.3 Subsidiary of First Horizon National Corp.4 Subsidiary of BNP Paribas SA.5 Subsidiary of Citizens Financial Group Inc.6 Union Bank is a brand name of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. unit MUFG Union Bank NA. 7 Subsidiary of Bank of Montreal.© 2017.
