Oprah Gail Winfrey By: Abby Kane Oprah Gail Winfrey became a hero by helping people with the money she earned. Oprah gave her money to people who need it and, and used it to help society. Oprah Winfrey was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi on January 29, 1954. Oprah has a dad named Vernon, a mom named Vernita, and a sister named Patricia. When she was a little girl living on her farm life, she was abused by her mom and dad. Then in 1971 Oprah went to Tennessee state university. In 1994 talk shows started to stink except for Oprah's show. The sales went through the roof when Winfrey started to star in the talk shows. Winfrey wanted to help children. So in 1994 Winfrey was a dedicated activist for children's rights. Then president Clinton signed a bill that Oprah proposed to creating a data base for convicted child abuses. One day Oprah earned enough to open a school for black girls. Oprah Gail Winfrey has inspired me to help people. I always thought that rich people were selfish and needy. When I read about her she inspired me to do many to things to help people the best I can. She Influenced me to fight for what I believe in. Oprah Gail Winfrey is a hero in many ways she has influenced many people including me and other people in society. You can't really explain how many ways that she has helped, but she put a shock in my eyes. I'm happy for her and she will always be my hero.
