Significant Contributions:

Reduced warranty defects on Transmission Devices from around 1% to 0.1% – 1000% reduction in 3 years. Contributed in Successful indigenization of gears and gear boxes of several excavator models in collaboration with

Hitachi (HCM) resulting into a cost saving of around Rs. 60 million per annum.

Devised and implemented new and low-cost pre-commissioning testing process of gear boxes with locally available material.

Formulated and implemented New Product/Component Introduction Flow Chart with time axis. Implemented the concept of Effectiveness of Self Inspection process. Systematized set-up approval process for in-house made and lot approval for incoming machined components. Devised and implemented a practicable Tool Life Management Program. Devised and implemented an SQC-based Program to monitor Cp/Cpk/Cmk on periodic basis. Devised and implemented an online server-based trigger system to maintain calibration of measuring instruments. Contributed in developing 9 New Products (e.g., excavator models, dumper, compactors, motor graders, etc.) as a

member of different NPI projects. Conceived under-implementation Hydraulic Drive Test Bench for Leak and Performance Test of hydraulic gear boxes. Planned the layout and establishment of a versatile Machine Test Track in Tata Hitachi- Kharagpur Plant. Contributed in the planning and implementation of QM Infrastructure, Quality Systems and SAP R/3- QM Module in

THCM's new plant at Kharagpur. Achieved 20% reduction in defect occurrences in 1 year by gap identification and mitigation. Achieved 15% reduction in the cost of production of dumpers as a member of CRISP (A Cost Reduction Project

guided by McKinsey). Devised parameters for Quality-linked component of wages of workers and Supervisors.
