Sinatra Park (View of NYC). It is very lovely to be there when the tension runs high. When watching the colorful lights and the awesome skyscrapers, all the tension melts away in a blink of an eye.

The best mem-ory in United States

When I was in the freshmen year. I learned that I could be anyone I wanted to be. There was no difference between me and other people. What makes me different is the hard work I do.

Bad memory in United States

My worst memory was when I gave my first speech/ pres-entation to my peers. It was as lousy as hell. I thought a parrot could talk better than I did.

If I were not an engineer/bio chem, I would be a…

an accountant. Actually I never thought myself as an engi-neer. I wanted to be an engineer but I thought I didn’t have the capability and intelligence to be one. I always loved numbers which I knew for sure. But the fate helped find my way to become who I am today and I am glad I am who I am today; even though I really, really want to be an accountant deep in my heart. That’s life. We have to choose between things that we love and I chose to be an engineer long time ago by paying the price of not becom-ing an accountant. What an expensive price to pay.

Few words to fellow Malay-sians

(1) Be who you really are. Don’t get influenced by the flow of the world and define yourself the way you want it.

(2) Always think about next 10 years when you are doing things. Think about it either it is worth doing it or not.

(3) Treat people the way you want people treat you. Let people do injustice on you, but it doesn’t qualify you to avenge the hateful actions.

(4) Be sincere to your own self. Always want you really want deep inside your heart. Is it money, love, or happiness that we are looking for? Or just the Love and Care for the Great One?

(5) Never stop praying, working hard, and believing in yourself even though the fate is not on your side. Believe that the fruits of hard work come in many unpredicted ways.

A Piece of Me = For the moments I could not go back and forget =

In my academic history, Stevens Institute of Technology is the longest education institution that I have ever stayed. I never stayed more 3 years in any other schools before because I have been moving around depending on my current academic interests and opportunities. I always believe the dynamics in education systems keeps me and my education aims fresh and relevant as the time passes by. Before I set my feet at Stevens, my world was totally different in every aspect of life. I used to be very skeptical with every-thing I saw. I never challenged the nature, and let alone, discovered the odds and other potential possibilities around me. This way of life really kept me at the mediocre level and, of course, put me in the safety net. It was almost shrinking my views in life as I grew up as an individual. This way of life changed when I came to Stevens. Undeniably, SIT and its community have the biggest influence in my world. My professors, friends and works expand my views to the whole new world in me. They change the way I see and think about the events happening around me. I am always at a constant state of pushing my limits everyday here. I never let myself feel comfortable with something until I am sure that I am the best in the thing I do. This keeps me feel the thrills to work harder and harder when I wake up in the morning. Among all the groups that I take part at Stevens, Malaysian Student Association (MASA) is a single group which shapes most of my personality. I almost cannot believe the history when I see how far we’ve come together. It makes me believe if we work together we can do better than I work alone. It is synonymous with the principle, “together we unite, and alone you fall”. MASA members influence me with many good elements in life. Teamwork, leadership, and pursuit of happiness are the major elements I learn from them. They teach me to be the man I am today. They never turn their backs on me and keep giving me countless second chances when I do mistakes. I believe I will remember all the members vividly even though we are apart in years to come. Each and every one of them is the “guru” in my life. I know sometimes I am not an easy-going person. I like holding to the stuff I know, no matter whether, it is right or not. With good grace and high respect they let me have my moment. By doing so, they discretely change me to be a better person by allowing me discover my own mistakes. It has been my pleasure to be a part of this group and I will not forget the life-long lessons I learn here in MASA. I want to say my thanks to all the MASA members to let me to be who I am and never judge me when I do something wrong. I also want to bid my good-byes to my fellow seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen. I hope you guys can make best out of your lives. Don’t let any opportunities in life pass you by without trying to grab them. Remember, we have one life to live. Make the most out of it. May god bless us. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

Best regards,

AMMAR

Travel wohooooo. I just love travel. Road trip, cruise, back packing, and camping

Bad memory in United States

Struggling with new environment, new society, new place but everything just turns out to be perfect. At first it was bad, but getting better at the end.

Computer Science or Graphic Designer. Didn't want to pick on those majors cause I thought it's a competitive major. Everyone is doing CS or Graphics. Jeez, wish that I hadn't had that useless thought.

Few words to fellow Malaysians

Life is so unpredictable. Embrace the present with full hearted, and always think big for the future. We may lost contact with some in the future, but hopefully we aren't inside.

Hope you guys enjoying your life after graduate in what ever path you are taking now but in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the

life in your years, especially with us, here in STEVENS.

Regards, Mohd Farhan Hasan - Class of 2011 - Chemical Engineering

There are no suitable words to describe my gratefulness for having you guys as seniors; even it's just for one short year. I knew

my decision to choose Stevens was the best, because I've been blessed by wonderful seniors who are always there to help me

and my fellow 'fresh-of-the-boats'. We'd done so many things together, from watching late night movies till ski/snow boarding.

Not to forget our Pierce nights where we hang out and just having fun (I still dont know how to play 'sape ade bola'. Fail). I'm

so grateful to spend time with you guys, to share my 5 cents, to care, tried to get to know you, to celebrate birthdays, to karaoke

on Friday night, to follow the SHABANG rules and to join Senior Design group meetings. And the most exciting experience was

when I really knew the true feelings of having older sisters. Thanks to Tim, Sureen, Nadia, Su, Nisa, Yaya and Latifah, my

lovely sisters who have been there for me, and I know they will always do. And to the boys, you guys rox! Believe it or not, your

batch has the most intriguing human species I've ever met. Lol jk. But it’s true. You guys are special. Finally, thanks for EVE-

RYTHING. I'm so glad that I got the chance to be in your memory (good ones!) and believe me, you guys are forever in my

mind. Take care, stay in contact, and good luck in your future undertakings. I love you. XOXO

I don’t have a specific place that l like. Most

often of the time I just stay in my room playing guitar or

Pro Evolution Soccer.

The best memory in United States

The best memories I have in United States are

mostly hanging out with my fellow friends

especially back during my sophomore and junior years in

Jefferson St. apartment. A lot of things happened and

they were fun. Those good all days were like treasures

that I will cherish for years to come.

Bad memory in United States

Bad memories I had here in United States would be the time I got into housing probation because of being loud during my sophomore year in Jefferson St. Apartment. I got to behave for a whole year just so that I can stay in campus. It was one heck of a year but somehow I managed to get through with flying colors.

If I were not an engineer/bio chem, I would be a

I would become a guitarist or a musician.

Few words to fellow Malaysians

For Seniors: I would like to say thank you and god bless

you wherever you go. I will never make it through the

end without you guys.

For Juniors: I have had a really fun time hanging

around you guys. Just don’t forget that a year will

past in a blink of an eye. So try your best till your

graduation day.

For Sophomores and Freshmens: Even though our

time together is really short, it was nice to know you

guys. Keep on rocking and study smart or hard be-

cause you have a long way ahead of you

Sureen, Apiez, Afiq and I went double date during freshman year. We played snow at Sinatra Park, made snowman halfway, snowfight, carry each other and laughed the whole day. That memory always made me smile.

Bad memory in United States

It's not exactly a bad memory, but it was pretty bad the moment it happened. This made me laugh when I remember it. It was the UMNO Sumer event (Sophomore). Latifah and I had to cook for lunch. I asked Afiq to defrost the chicken but he didn't do it because of some misunderstanding. I got very upset and start throwing all onions towards Afiq's and Joe's bedroom door in River apartment. Latifah looked at me amazingly (jk jk). Hahaha..

Few words to fellow Malaysians

Start working very early (very hard & very smart too) to be what you want to be or discover what you want to be. Don't put off coz you're gonna regret it later. There's no way to get back every seconds gone.

"Kawan"

Kawan bertahun kita bersama

Bagai semalam baru bersua Kawan dihadapan oh! Indahnya

Kita bersama berkelana

Kawan jangan biarkan dirimu

Seperti rama-rama Cantik namun akhirnya menjadi perhiasan di dinding

Kawan jangan biarkan dirimu Umpama lipan dan kala

Berbisa namun akhirnya menjadi perhiasan di meja tulis

Oh! Kawan jadilah seperti si matahari

Membakar diri demi insan sejagat Oh! Kawan jadilah seperti bulan purnama

Menerangi malam yang gelap gelita Menunjukkan jalan demi ummat semesta

Menunjukkan jalan demi ummat semesta

"Empty Decorations"

I wake in the dark

With showers of life

Moments of emptiness around

Floating away

No other hope

Reality brings me

Into the ground

What can I do

What can I say

I need a place to hide away

Just for a while, just for a smile

Just for a life I used to know

The perfect song were filled with

Words of love and not with anger

What if they go

What if they leave me far behind

'Cause I don't wanna be alone...

Living life for on my own

I don't want to live my life in isolation

Filled with empty decorations

'Cause I want to be with people that I know

Who would do the things I do

Making all my dreams come true

I don't recognize the shadows at my door

Though I've seen them all before

Because the only thing I really want...

Is to be with you...

duck. lol... I can't think of any.

Few words to fellow Malaysians

Being an engineer is the best thing hap-pened to me. The most valuable lesson is not about wiring a Butterworth low-pass filter, but how to make something out us-ing available resources. The best tool as an engineer is it's problem solving. Paired it with Stevens' Technogenesis vision, you can be whatever you want to be.

I don’t know which Saturday it was but I was in the surau of my secondary school. The day

was cloudy with rays of sunlight replacing the gray sky. People left after Subuh prayer but de-cided to stay in the surau and enjoying a little moment with myself. It was a calm day, just

what I needed after a hectic weekday. I thought about my future and I didn’t occur to me that I would be spending four years of my life in the States. Yet here I am, watching the same sun rising upon the sky. This time, it is above the skyline of the busiest region in the world. Once

again, I think about what the future would bring. Well I don’t know. Like what Steve Jobs said, it’s impossible to connect the dots looking forward. So just do what you love and trust that it will connect with something big in the future. Life is so short to live

life of others. Don’t afraid to believe that you can make your own history. I’m 23 now. Much of my life hasn’t been thought over yet. Looking at the past, there were

things that I think I could’ve done better but there was not a single thing that I wish I didn’t do. All my mistakes, my achievement, my blunders, my regrets and my waste of time are all

precious to me. Those things that I did define of what I am now. For fellow juniors, I would like to say that I am impressed with you. You were much more in-

dependent than we were. You handled all the events remarkably. I hope you can continue your effort and build a highly conducive environment for fellow Malaysians in Stevens. There

is no doubt that you can be great leaders for tomorrow. Do what you love, and stay believing.

Regards, Mohd Irwan Ibrahim

Of course my room - CPA 302- because every time I wake up I can see the spectacu-lar view of Manhattan and the view of just how busy the Hudson river can be - with those cruise boats, ferries, helicopters, small planes & etc. Plus, I don't have to watch it from the TV. It's already standing right in front of me.

I don't know what it was, and I don't feel like writing about it. Sorry~ :P

If I were not an engineer/bio chem, I would be a

doctor. My parents used to encourage me to be a doc-tor, but I’m not really interested working in the field plus I don’t really like chemistry (but I do love biology, anyway). Nevertheless, I did made a promise to them that if I wasn’t ac-cepted to further my studies abroad, I would become a doctor.

Few words to fellow Malaysians

Have a clear mission and plan while you still in freshmen/sophomore. If not, you'll regret not performing so well like your other friends. And if you have enough money & time, go out & have fun traveling. Don't be cheap la. It's good for our soul & help widening our horizons. Cheers!

Traveling around almost everywhere I wanted to go. It’s a shopper’s paradise here too! Shopping in Malaysia will never be the same. Thank you MARA ^_^! And all my hard earned income. Especially big thanks to those who are willing to put up with me. I’m so thankful to always have someone who’s willing to travel with me. I have so many memories with all my friends here. It would not be the same without the Malaysian community. We flew here together, explored this foreign land together, and we went through so many ups and downs, helping each other aca-demically and hang out together. My sorority sisters, my fencing team mates, can’t imagine a better college life than this! I’m getting so emotional just writing this. I have so many, many, many things to say. Words can’t really de-scribe how I feel now. Flash backs and thoughts kept rush-ing through. Goodbye America, I really hope that I can visit you again.

Bad memory in United States

with all those wonderful memories above, it’s hard to have a bad one. I’ll put schoolwork, but that’s life.

If I were not an engineer/bio chem, I would be a

successful career woman. Whatever that may be, as long as I’m happy and content with my job.

Few words to fellow Malaysians

It’s really great getting to know all of you. You guys are like family to me. I mean that. Let’s try to meet up fre-quently in the future. Even if we’re busy try to make the effort. Simple activities such as going to the movies, dining out at restaurants, traveling, or just simple small get to-gether where we can just sit down, have a chat and laugh about silly things. Let’s not let the pursuing of our lives distant or ruin this wonderful and special friendship that we have here. Most of all, don’t forget me!! I certainly will not forget you. Keep in touch and I wish you all the best. May all of you achieve great things and be successful in your own personal goal. =)

8 random things about nur hidayah jamar:

1. when i was 6, i was bitten by a baboon father; apparently he was

getting mad of not getting any chestnuts (blame him for his enormous

size, of course I got scared!) hence a scar at my forehead.

2. when i was 8 or so, my sister and i ignored my father's order to go

into our room and sleep (we were waiting for a movie shown in tv, u

know, with all the advertisement and i still remember this perilly's

and dunhill's cigg punya iklan); as a result, i woke up feeling

something crawling at my palm! my father put a cockroach and imagine my

jeritannnn!!! i screamed so loud and i threw the cockroach to my sis

(she was sleeping beside me). thanks to that experience, up till now,

cockroach is absolutely my enemy (my sister shared the same opinion

too!)

3. when i was..erm..not matured enough, i used to think that i could

pass through any longkang and parit without jumping..so i had countless

accidents to just walk through longkang and there's this one time, when

i was in standard 4, there's this small gate through sek. sect. 6(i'm

sure sophomore recognizes this place) and being an idiot, i just walk

through the parit and poof!land into the longkang right away. i was

soaked enough i tell you...so, i had to walk and changed my attire; for

the first time in my life, i was late the first day of school (not to

mention people laughing their a** off at me haha)

4. i was called as joyah sport for the first time when i was 10. they

said the character fit me since i was really active at that time (my

mouth too!). however, i was really determined to not being called as

joyah again so i didn't participate to any sports in high school except

netball! however, the name still exists up till now though they changed

from time to time..joyah sports to joyah to just..joe. i'm really a

tomboy person!

5. when i was 11 up till 14, i used to slide between elevators (there's

a gap between it) and played mcm main gelongsor. sigh, i know people

were watching (i did it countless of times in PKNS and Plaza Alam

Sentral) but i just..xtau malu hahaha!

6. back then, i loved watching kisah benar done by TV3, however..i got

goosebumps hearing the theme song. oh god, every time the drama was

about to start, my sis and i would struggle to find the remote control

(my father, being a prank, loved to hid it), muted it, and if we failed

to find it, we would scream, went to our room, and hid under the

blanket! i swear the theme song terrified us that bad!

7. it was really hard for me to warm up to people esp. girls. it's

probably due to my history since i was a really tomboy person and i

didn't spend that much time as a girl myself or the feelings of

backstabbing... however, once i warmed enough with a person and has

this feeling that "this person wants to know about me as 'me'.." i

would be a chatty person u ever known haha!so far,i never betrayed a

person that i call as a friend, i really cherish kind of relationship

actually.

8. i never regretted transferring to Stevens. they were so many people

questioning my motif and whether i could do it or not. but here i am,

about to graduate..hopefully, this path of life would guide me, as i

try to become me and perhaps a better me overall!

number 8 is not my fav number but that's the num that i would conjure

in my mind first-handed. hopefully u guys enjoy this as much as me

having find writing it! happy graduation and may we become more

acquainted in the next time!!!
