Upon arrival at Maun Airport you will be welcomed by our repre-sentative. A light aircraft transfer will bring you to Baines’ Camp in the Okavango Delta.

Baines’ Camp is located on a huge private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Set in a grove of trees, and sur-rounded by papyrus beds, this low environmental impact camp has been built using commercially grown wood and recycled tin cans. The local community in Maun was asked to collect as many cans as they could and were paid a fee for every can col-lected. These cans were then incorporated into the camp build-ings, forming the backbone of the structures.

There are only five suites at Baines’, all with en suite facilities and four-poster beds. Traditional safari ceiling fans create a cooling breeze at even the hottest times of the year. The beds can be wheeled out onto the private wooden deck for a night under the stars, overlooking the shimmering waters of the Boro River where hippo can often be spotted. A private star bath can also be set up on the view-ing deck upon request.

Baines’ Camp offers the unique Living with Elephants activity.

Chief ’s Camp is located in the exclusive Mombo Concession in the Moremi Game Reserve on Chief ’s Island, one of the many is-lands created by the seasonal floodwaters of the Okavango Delta. The island was named after Chief Moremi, the hereditary king of the area who used the lands as his royal hunting grounds. It was Moremi’s people, the Tawana, who turned it into a reserve where animals are protected.

The Moremi is known as the “predator capital of Africa” due to the abundance of big cats. Elephant, hippo, buffalo, giraffe and rhino are also frequently spotted. There are even healthy populations of wild dog, the most endangered predator in Southern Africa.

The twelve guest pavilions all have their own private decks as well as indoor and outdoor showers. There is a communal decked living pavilion with stunning views over the floodplains, while the dining area surrounds a fire pit on the very edge of the Piajio plains.

Chobe Chilwero is a luxurious retreat in the heart of the bush, lo-cated on the edge of Chobe National Park. The lodge sits above the Chobe River and offers unparalleled panoramic views across the islands and floodplains as far as Namibia.

Chobe Chilwero has 15 thatched cottages. Each has its own en suite bathroom with a modern free standing bath, indoor and out-

door showers. There is also a private garden and “sala” or private balcony. The main public area in-cludes a lounge and dining

room, which are linked to outdoor viewing patios. While at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, a visit to the full service spa is an absolute must. Great care has been taken in selecting brands, treatment meth-ods and practices that are environmentally friendly. Spa facilities include an indoor spa bath, Vichy showers, hydrotherapy, plunge pool, relaxation area and private treatment rooms – one of which is elevated in the treetops.
