The Oberlin Police Department worked these calls:

• At 8:20 a.m. last Thursday, Leta Meitl, 43, was backing her 2001 Dodge van out of a parking stall at the grade school and hit a 2007 Dodge van driven by Sarah Howland, 34. There was damage to the driver’s-side rear door on Mrs. Howland’s van and the rear bumper of Mrs. Meitl’s.

There was no ticket given since the accident was on private property.

• Arrested Bruce King, 23, last Wednesday on a bench warrant for furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Scott Dolan, 54, crop production manager for Decatur Co-op, who died Saturday in Puerto Rico.

Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.

Glema Jean MacyGlema Jean Macy, 78, a 1948

graduate of Decatur Community High School, died Feb. 2, 2010, at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.

She was born July 11, 1931, in Lebanon, Neb., the daughter of Truman A. and Clara Mildred (Weatherwax) Gay. She grew up on a farm near Lebanon, Neb., and Lyle. She attended Hamburg Rural School. After high school graduation, she furthered her education at Kearney State College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education.

She married Jack Marlo Macy on Dec. 18, 1949, in Atwood. They lived on a farm near Lebanon. She

taught school for many years and was a member of the Lyle United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Greg and Beth Macy, Lebanon, Neb.; two grandsons, and a sister, Darlene and Ray Lobato.

Her husband preceded her in death on April 4, 2009.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin. Terry McCorkle officiated and burial was at the Lebanon Cemetery.

A memorial was established to the Lebanon Cemetery. Contributions may be sent to the funeral home, 121 N. Penn, Oberlin, Kan., 67749.

Howard A. PetracekHoward Allen Petracek, 75, a 1952

graduate of Decatur Community High School , d i e d F r i d a y, Feb. 5, 2010, at Overland Park.

He was born Nov. 24, 1934, in Oberlin, the son of Emil and Lucille (Bremer) Pe t racek . He earned a Bachelor o f S c i e n c e i n B u s i n e s s Administration at Kansas State University in 1956. He worked for United Airlines for 12 years, Frontier Airlines for eight years, and served five years in the Army National Guard. He also farmed at Jennings for 20 years.

Survivors include three children; Keith and Sharon Petracek; Steve and Kim Petracek, and Sheryl Petracek; three grandchildren, and two sisters, Jeanne and Herb Hoskins, and Marcia and Richard Wiltfong.

Joane Kay WalkerJoane Kay Walker, 46, a native

of Menlo, died Jan. 28, 2010, at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

She was born June 7, 1963, in Colby, the youngest child of Louis and Norma (Ogier) Dible. She was reared on a farm near Menlo. She attended Golden Plains School and graduated from Hoxie High School in 1981, and furthered her education at Fort Hays State University.

She married Dennis Walker on July 14, 1986, in Colorado Springs. Colorado. They lived in Oakley then later moved to Park. She worked as a grocery store clerk in Quinter and
