SPECIFICATION OF DUTIES AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Position Objectives

To work in conjunction with the Physical Education, and Sports Co-ordinator. To assist teachers in

the classroom and at relevant events.

Organisational Relationship

The Physical Education Trainee will be responsible to both the Sports Co-ordinator and the PE

Domain Leader, who in turn is responsible to the Principal.

35 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract 29/01/2017 – 21/12/2017

SPECIFICATION OF DUTIES The Trainee will be required to work in conjunction with the Sports Co-ordinator and the Health /PE

Co-ordinator. This will consist of assisting teachers in the classroom and at relevant events.

General

Completing the PE planner each term/Semester

Making bookings of venues for classes

Keeping the sports / PE store rooms clean across the College

Stocktaking PE equipment and ordering further equipment if necessary

Completing general purchase orders under the direction of the Sports / Health / PE

Co-ordinator

Assisting with the organisation of excursions

Helping Casual Relief Teachers with extras

Complete permission slips for excursions

Attendance at P-12 general excursions throughout the year, per the Trainee Calendar of

events and in consultation with the Sports / Health PE Co-ordinators.

Assisting with sports carnivals, swimming events, athletics days, cross country and

interschool carnivals.

Provide information for the College newsletter, Channels on sports events.

Provide support at the Primary Campus in consultation with the Sports / PE

Co-ordinator.

Relationships with staff and students

Take an active role in the Whole College ES Team

Role model appropriate behaviour in line with the College Values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Doing your Best and Community

The Trainee will be allocated a mentor who will meet with the Trainee on a regular basis to support the wellbeing of the Trainee.

To assist with communication, the Trainee will log onto the College Network and check their Edumail account throughout the week and also attend regular meetings with their Supervisor.

Supervision of students is not required except where it is an integral part of the Trainee’s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
