VILLA DESCRIPTION

VILLA 3267 IN UBUD, BALI

This beautiful, very spacious villa on the edge of Sebali, a pretty traditional village just outside Ubud, is

a luxurious haven from which to enjoy both the peace and the delights of Bali. The views from the house

are of typical rice terraces and, in the distance, spectacular Mt Agung and the dramatic mountains

towards the north of the island. We have been careful to be environmentally sensitive - green - with

many eco-features, and there is a lovely garden with organically grown fruit trees, and our own rice

fields.

Villa 3267 is just 15 minute's drive from the centre of Ubud, the cultural and artistic heart of Bali. All

on good roads, half the drive is through typical villages, beautiful rice fields and tropical forest, and half

past interesting art galleries, antique and craft shops, and restaurants. Ubud is about one and a quarter





hours drive from the airport.

The villa is built round three sides of a grassy, tree- and flower-ringed courtyard, with the fourth side an

infinity pool looking down over a cascade of lotus and water-lily ponds. It is our home when we are in

Bali, so it combines outstanding service and accommodation with a more friendly atmosphere than a

hotel or commercial villa. There are many art works and antiques in and around the villa which has four

very special bedroom suites and combines the delight of open air living with the luxury of bedroom air-

conditioning if needed. It is only let as a single unit.

There is a fully equipped kitchen, a library/games room and a table tennis room. See Accommodation

for a fuller description. We have included many environmentally-friendly features, from the thick,

alang-alang roofs which provide wonderful insulation, to solar powered water heating and pool

systems, and natural waste water treatment (there are more details under Our green credentials) The

garden is lavishly planted with many sweet-smelling trees and flowers and has numerous statues. Beside

the pool is a pretty balé, a traditional grass-roofed pavilion for shaded relaxation, while below it a path

winds through the lotus ponds down to the orchard with its wide range of tropical fruit trees.

The villa is managed by the incomparable Rita Dewi and has seven full time staff: four in the house

including the resident house manager and cooks, two gardeners and a night security guard. We also

have a young trainee. Our house staff will prepare your breakfasts, and other meals on request,

maintain the house and rooms immaculately, and be on hand to aid and advise you. There are many

things to do and see - artistic, sporting, cultural, spiritual and purely self-indulgent - within easy reach.

Services Villa 3267's overall manager is Rita Dewi, a renowned Balinese dancer. She has excellent

English and can help with any problems and special requests. She will be sure to come to the villa to

meet you and ensure that all is well.

Our senior house staff person is Made (pronounced Madé ) a well educated young man who also has

very good English. As well as having considerable hotel experience, Made has run a tour company for

individual travellers in Bali so can help with suggestions and plans for things to see and do. He is also a

good driver and can act as tour guide on request at a reasonable rate.

Also in the house are Ayu and Ketut, who are both excellent cooks (Indonesian and Western), Ngurah,

and trainee Nyoman. Night security is Gusti, with Wayan as relief security and driving. All the staff are





very good with children. If your party is very large we can employ extra staff from the village.

Babysitting can be arranged.

Catering Breakfasts - eggs, toasts, fresh fruit and juices, tea and coffee - are included in the rental.

Complementary tea and coffee are available all day.

Ketut and Ayu will prepare delicious lunches, dinners and snack menus, all at very reasonable prices.

Equally, we can advise on restaurants which can deliver, though our food is so good you are unlikely to

use them except for very special requests. And there are dozens - maybe hundreds - of cafes and

restaurants within a 20 minute drive of Villa 3267, from the very modest to top level.

All linen is provided.

We have our own well with very good water, perfect for everyday use. However, as a precaution, filtered

drinking water is supplied. Hair driers and an iron are supplied
