Tip 2: Focus on the Instructional design
• Include your Instructional Designers early in the template design process
• Template(s) should be based on a solid instructional model - content, learners, technology, in-house skills, platforms
• Build an exemplar for a wide variety of screen templates• Use a scripting template to match the build template

Tip 3: Best build practices
• Spend time on the Master slide (branding layer)• Be vigilant when naming and ordering layers & naming
assets – name before importing into tool – timeline management
• Use the rulers and guides for consistent alignment when building
• Minimise use of sophisticated features of the tool e.g. animations, variables – dependent on skills of the team, and frequency of tool use – Keep it simple!

Tip 4: Make best use of resources available
• Launch the style guide and template and train your team to use it
• Build standard content into the template• Create versions of templates based on skills levels of the
team• Reuse audio snippets• Create a photo library or access an online stock image library• Spot check adherence to template, get feedback from the
team on the design and update as needed
