    M e e t o u r Y o u t h E n r i c h m e n t i n s t r u c t o r sBrandon Seyferth has been teaching guitar at the North Shore School for the Arts in Glencoe for seven years. He is a critically acclaimedsongwriter and composer who is accomplished on the guitar, voice, blues piano and drums. Seyferth has performed, composed and re-corded with the likes of Jackson Browne, Victor Delarenzo (Violent Femmes), Jay Bennett (Wilco), Eric McFadden (P-Funk, StockholmSyndrome), and Clyde Stubbleeld (James Brown). His lengthy study and experience as a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist make himan excellent results-based instructor. His love for music and learning translates into fun and rewarding lessons.

    Mary Fisher has been working in the early childhood profession for over 20 years. She has been teaching at the Community House forover 10 years.

    Elyse Ferdinand holds a degree from Northern Illinois in Early Childhood Education. She has over 18 years of preschoolteaching experience.

    Kids Science Labs has developed innovative hands-on classes for kids age two12 using our unique inquiry based LIFES Curriculum(Learning Innovation, Fun Engineering and Science). By engaging kids with the hands-on science they love early and with regular fre-quency year round, we help enable a generation of amazing critical thinkers, regardless of their future careers. All classes are built onactivities based on core science principles that are framed as questions that your kids ask you every day.

    Carole Pearlman is the founder of The Joy of Creativity art program. Inspiring curriculum, freedom of expression and opportunitiesto explore many art materials make this innovative program a creative success for each student. Carole holds a BFA in painting and aMasters degree in education and psychology.

    Karen Perl, BFA, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Studied in Dublin, Ireland at The National College of Art and Design.Lived and painted for two years in Montpellier, France. Teaching experience: Marwen, The Evanston Art Center, The GreenleafArt Center and private instruction. www.karenperl.com

    Carol Modes worked for the Deereld Public Schools for 14 years teaching kindergarten, second and fourth grade classes and as agifted education instructor. She and codirector Susie Blau developed all materials and curriculum for Extraordinary Kids.

    Susie Blau has a Master of Arts degree in behavioral psychology and has worked as a consultant to families and educators for over 15years. She and codirector Carol Modes developed all materials and curriculum for Extraordinary Kids.

    Patricia OBrien has been trained and certied by the Protocol School of Washington to present etiquette programs to children, teensand young adults. She has established Manners, Please, providing social skills for every occasion.

    Tiny Treks is an innovative program for families who want to teach their children about the world through exploration of their natu-ral surroundings. We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences which build self-esteem and encourage a love of nature.In this class activities will include short, stimulating hikes in a variety of outdoor settings, music, art projects and games.Please bring a lunch and drink to class.

    The Music Institute of ChicagoCelebrate your childs love of nature and growing independence through activities which focus on the seasons of the year. Classes aredesigned to build attention span, self-expression and language development and include stories, singing and games.

    All non-members will be able to register July 23, 2012.Registration received through the mail, fax, or in person will be processedby 5:00 p.m. the next business day. The best way to ensure that yourregistration is processed immediately is by using our online registration at

    M e m b e r s h i p I n f o r m a t i o nEarly registration: Members are eligible to register for all classes one week

    prior to the start of seasonal registration. Early registration can be done

    via the web at winnetkacommunityhouse.org, fax or in person at Winnetka

    Community House. Please note: early registration does not guarantee a

    spot in a class.

    Who is eligible for benets? All family members in your household are

    eligible for membership benets. When registering for membership, just list

    your family members, and they will be included for the program registra-

    tion benets automatically when registering for classes.

    Membership renewal: Members receive a notice about one month prior

    to the expiration, so the membership can be renewed for the next year.

    Refunds for memberships will not be available.

    tion form. Then check the box and add the membership fee in withyour registration.

    C a n c e l l a t i o n o f C l a s s e s

    Prior to any class, registration is reviewed to determine if the enrollmentis sufcient to hold the class. Register early! Do not wait until the day ofthe rst class to register. You may nd the class has been cancelled due to

    low enrollment.

    R e f u n d P o l i c yFull refunds will be issued for courses that are cancelled by WinnetkaCommunity House due to insufcient registration. A refund, less a 10%service charge (not to exceed $25), may be granted if the refund request isreceived ve full working days prior to the start of the program. No refundswill be allowed after this time unless a medical condition develops and awritten explanation from a physician on his/her letterhead is presented.

    Due to advanced reservation requirements, no refunds for trips, outings,or special events will be given.

    P r o r a t e d P o l i c yClasses may be prorated if you would like to enroll in a class after it hasstarted, provided the instructor has space, and allows for late registration.The supervisor must approve the prorated amount.

    I n c l e m e n t W e a t h e rWinnetka Community House will not hold classes on days when theWinnetka Public Schools have cancelled classes due to inclement weather.

    R e l i g i o u s H o l i d a y sWinnetka Community House makes every effort to avoid schedulingprograms or events on religious holidays. Anyone affected will be offeredthe option of attending a session of the same program on a different date as amake-up, or receiving a prorated refund of the series fee for the date missed. Winnetka Community House is not responsible for the supervision

    of children on site prior to or remaining on site after the establishedprogram times.

    Winnetka Community House is handicapped accessible. If you or any member of your family has special needs, please see our

    Executive Director. Winnetka Community House receives no tax dollars. We are supported by

    our programs, fund raising events, our annual campaign, and donations. Winnetka Community House assumes no responsibility and carries no

    accident or medical insurance for injuries or accidents at programs oractivities on Community House property. It is advisable to review yourown personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family

    have proper and sufcient insurance coverage.

    Winnetka Community House is committed to conducting its recreation programs and activities in the safest manner possible, and holds the safety of the participants in the highest possible regard. Participanparents registering their child in recreation programs must recognize, however, that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreation activities. Winnetka Community House contstrives to reduce such risks, and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions which have been designed to protect the participants safety. Please recognize that Winnetka Community Housnot carry medical accident insurance for injuries sustained in its programs. The cost of such would make program fees prohibitive. Therefore, each person registering himself\herself or a family member

    recreation program/activity should review his/her own health insurance policy for coverage. It must be noted that the absence of health insurance coverage does not make Winnetka Community House automresponsible for payment of medical expenses. Due to the difficulty and high cost of obtaining liability insurance, the agency providing liability coverage for Winnetka Community House requires the executhe following Waiver and Release. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Please read this form carefully, and be aware in participating in the program(s) listed on this page, you will be waiving and releasclaims for injuries you might sustain arising out of the activities of this program.

    As a participant in the program, I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury, and I agree to assume the full risk of any injuries, including death, damages or loss, regardless of sevwhich I may sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with or associated with such program. I agree to waive and relinquish all claims I may have as a result of participating in the pragainst Winnetka Community House and its officers, agents, servants and employees. I do hereby fully release and discharge Winnetka Community House and its officers, agents, servants and employees froand all claims from injuries, including death, damages or loss which I may have or which may accrue to me on account of my participation. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless and defend Winnetka Conity House and its officers, agents, servants and employees from any and all claims from injuries, including death, damages or losses sustained by me or arising out of, connected with, or in any way associatethe activities of the program. In the event of emergency, I authorize Winnetka Community House officials to secure from any licensed hospital, physician, and/or medical personnel any treatment deemed necfor my immediate care, and agree that I will be responsible for payment of any and all medical services required. All participants agree that any photography taken while participating in a class, special eventof a facility may be used for promotional purposes Winnetka Community House. Participants agree to receive emails from Winnetka Community House.

    REFUND AND PRORATE INFORMATION

    Full refunds will be issued for courses that are cancelled by Winnetka Community House due to insufficient registration. A refund, less a 10% service charge (not to exceed $25), may be granted if the refund reis received five full working days prior to the start of the program. No refunds will be allowed after this time unless a medical condition develops and a written explanation from a physician on his/her letterhpresented. Due to advanced reservation requirements, no refunds for trips, outings, or special events will be given. Classes may be prorated if you would like to enroll in a class after it has started, providinstructor has space, and allows for late registration. The supervisor must approve the prorated amount.
