WE ARE?

Rent Minds® is a creative collaborativenetwork of content creators: photographers,illustrators, designers, writers, copywriters, film-makers, researchers, artists and curiousminds.

Rent Minds® is made up of various platforms:a freelance creative collective, online art gallery, a creative development program, online art & culture journal.

HOW IT BEGAN?

Rent Minds® was initiated early 2009.It first started as a Freelance CreativeCollective– with the vision and missionof collaborating with creatives fromvarious creative disciplines, as well asempowering and developing emergingcreatives.

Rent Minds® has evolved into a networkdedicated to collaborating on projects,sharing networks and showcasing creativityfrom emerging African creatives andartistic talent in various disciplines.

OUR OBJECTIVES?

•Establish a creative collaborative plat-form and network of inter-disciplinarythinking around the arts and creativeindustry on the African continent.•Showcase and highlight emerging andestablished creative and artistic talent,collectives, and projects related to thearts and creative industries.•Establish and showcase an emergentonline collection of creativity and artfrom an African perspective.•Offer a platform on which the mostdiverse artists and creatives can expressthemselves independent of criticism.•Combat African rigidity and confine-ment of creative and artistic views.•Create an outlet for experimentalcreative and artistic talent.

WHAT AND HOW WE DO IT?

We collaborate, share work, network,represent, recommend, support and offeradvice from various sources to creativeand artistic talent on how to grow; fromdeveloping a portfolio to spotting oppor-tunities.

We also conduct a number of projects(commercial and non-commercial pro-jects) to develop, train, expose and show-case African Creative and Artistic talent.

WHY COLLABORATE?

In the past great ideas were held ontoand owned but we are moving into atrend where great ideas are shared andbecome brilliant.

Sharing work encourages multifaceted, robust and market leading ideas that thendrive dynamic action. It also kills ego and hedonism.It takes courage to share - be brave and set ideas free.
