Ideas Sheet: (Project name) Created by: Tyler Johnson Initial Idea 1: Kingslayer: Rise for Justice A young teenager ravenous for justice, whose parents were put in a jail for their murder of his sister (their daughter). He believes his parents are innocent and the “Man in red” he saw at the night of the murder in the room his older sister was murdered. The police never believed the 7 year old at the time and the supreme court sentenced both of his parents to life in prison on a joint crime. The young 7 year old was moved to Tibet, to live with his Uncle; whom is an expert in martial arts and is anxious to teach his nephew discipline and self-control after such unfortunate events and no one else to guide him. The young boy had to go under immense training and was struggling to control his emotions, as the years went by he gained the ability to control his emotions and was very wise; he also was classed as the best young martial artist in Asia due to being entered into martial arts competitions. He especially specified in ninjustsu, a sword based art that is a lethal skill to obtain. By the time he turned 17 he and his uncle moved back to London, and it was the first time he saw his sister’s grave and saw his parents at jail. He told them he was determined to bring justice to their family and he decided he must take justice into his own hands and become a vigilante named “Kingslayer” and infiltrate the crime syndicates of London and bring the “Man in Red” to his knees and bring justice to him, with the aid of his uncle. How does this appeal to the audience? This appeals to the audience because it is an understandable story and it has an origin story, so that the audience know the character. 1

It is an action/mystery drama, because he is a protagonist (hero) and also the location, Tibet, a country with a lot practice in the martial arts. A sword is used as a prop and he will wear a vigilante costume.

Initial Idea 2:NocturneFive years ago on Halloween four people were reported missing and were last seen walking into a mysterious woodland, that is restricted from public use. It is now Halloween and four friends want to do something scary for Halloween and they decide to go to the woodland; too see if anything is as strange as it is described as. However they are unaware of the horror that awaits them.

How does this appeal to the audience?

It appeals to the audience because of the suspense of the film and the mystery of the previous four that entered the woodland.

What narrative theories does it use and how?

It uses Barthes’ codes for enigma, because it is a mystery that carries a lot of enigma and needs to be solved.

It is a horror, because it uses young and vulnerable characters and has a typical woodland that is with horror.

Initial Idea 3:

The InterrogationA murderer is in an interrogation room to be asked whether or not he actually killed 5 people at his workplace. And a detective is willing to hear all sides of the story but the police force won’t let him but he does it without clearance and is working hard to understand the murderer.

How does this appeal to the audience?

The audience would enjoy the concept of the film and understand the character, and why he committed such a horrendous crime.
