The plus/minus strategy

• As you go through the questions the first time…– Answer those you know.– Place a minus sign in front of those

seeming impossible and mark a guessed answer.

– Place a + in front of those you probably can do, but are time consuming, and mark a guessed answer.

After you have finished responding to all…• Go back to your + signs.• See if you can do some of those.

• Or

• Go back and check to make sure your other work has been done correctly.

• Don’t worry about erasing the + and – signs.

Reading Test Tips

• Before you read the passage…– Read the question.– Mark any important part of the

question.– Do not read the answers – too time

directly implied in the passage.– Eliminate wrong responses.
