Match on action is used to illustrate movement of character(s). They are used to portray continuity so the scene looks seamless and clear for us as the audience to understand

180 DEGREE RULE

The 180 degree rule is an imaginary line which cinematographers use to make sure that the correct side of the character is being used when moving or doing something so they don’t clash the continuity
