Alumni Association: a brief……...
The Alumni Association is a registered body under the Societies Registration Act 1897, and was established on March 4, 1967.
In January 1976, the First Convention of the Alumni was held at IIT Kanpur and a formal constitution was adopted by an elected Executive Committee.
Every year since then, we hold Alumni Conventions.
Every 2 years, elections to the Board of Directors are held.
The present constitution was adopted in January 2006.
The AA IITK is the first Alumni Association to use e-voting in its elections for its Board. A

To help alumni achieve their professional goals,
To facilitate the association of alumni with their Alma Mater, and

Membership
The Association has the following categories of members:
(1) Regular members and
(2) Honorary members
(1) Regular members are those
(i) Who have received degree(s)/diploma(s) awarded by the Institute, herein referred to
as the alumni, and
(ii) Have registered with Alumni Association by paying the applicable life membership fees.
Faculty members who have served the Institute.
(2) Honorary members
Honorary membership shall be conferred on
(i) All the past directors of the Institute and
(ii) Eminent personalities honored by the Institute or the persons of eminence
who have not received any degree from the Institute but have contributed
immensely or have shown a keen interest for the development of the Institute.

II Batch Reunion
The Class –of-66 is planning to have their II Batch reunion scheduled for
November 26 to 28, 2011
With around 45 of them attending with their families
Silver Jubilee ReunionThe Class–of–87
25 years of their graduation is scheduled for
December 24 to 26, 2011
with around 125 alumni

40th Year Reunion
The Class-of-72 wishes to
celebrate their 40th Year Reunion from
December 27 – 29, 2011
35th Year Reunionof the Class–of–77
scheduled for
February 2nd -5th 2011
with 100 alumni from around the globe, participating in the event.

is the highest award given by IIT Kanpur to
to its alumni for their outstanding achievements in
their field of pursuit.
The process for collecting nomination this year is on.
The last date for this years nomination is October 31, 2011
This years awards will be presented in February – March 2012

Student Alumni Interaction Day
Three successful Student Alumni Interaction days have been scheduled till date by the current Board. These interaction sessions have turned out to be very successful with alumni ranging from the recent to the older batch-mates coming
and addressing the current students, clearing their doubts about their future carriers ahead.
Souvenir shop Alumni Association has its own Souvenir shop which has customized memorabilia especially made for the Alumni and the current students
The souvenirs are also available online at the Alumni Association Website.
