Action Plan for Technology TISD Objective: 100% of the instructional staff will have access to and use technology strategies, which are appropriate for the individual needs of each student, to integrate technology into each academic content area as a means to improve academic achievement. All students and classrooms will have adequate access to technologies (computers, SMART Boards, etc.) where students can use technology in each of their classes at least once a week. All staff will utilize the DMAC System to monitor student benchmark weaknesses. All staff will utilize the CSCOPE curriculum guide in daily classroom planning. Objective: The percentage of technology proficient teachers will increase by 50% allowing technology integration to improve. Teacher proficiencies, that meet or exceed the State of Texas minimum educator proficiencies for new teachers, will be met by all teachers on staff. Professional development will be utilized to increase teacher proficiencies in these areas. Objective: All students will develop technology skills necessary to continue advanced education, improve student academic achievement, and the skills to function responsibly in a high-tech society. Student technology competencies for grades K-12 will be incorporated into the curriculum to insure 100% proficiency and academic success. A technology scope and sequence for all grades K-12 to include all competencies and Technology TEKS will be developed and implemented.

Action Plan for Technology TISD

Strategies for using technology in order to improve all home, school, and community communications will be developed and implemented.

Multiple technologies such as voice messaging, web postings, email, etc. will be utilized to increase the parental involvement and improve communication with all parents.

Partnerships with area community colleges to provide dual credit, college credit, and/or skills technology for all students, staff, and community members on our campus via distance learning, web-based, or physical attendance will be developed and offered to all members of the community and school.

Objective: Efficient and cost effective procurement processes will be used for all technology purposes.

The district will participate in the DIR purchasing program., E-Rate discount program, and Region ESC consortia program, and/or local competitive bidding process for all technology purchases.

Objective: District will maintain a 1:1 Ratio of Students to computers and a 1:1 Ratio of Teachers to computers through lease and purchase machines.

District will conduct yearly audits and inventory to determine replacement needs of student computers.

District will continue leasing option on teacher laptops to maintain a three year replacement rotation on these units.
