The principal is also in charge of finding funding for technology needs. The principal also has to encourage teachers to attend professional development for technology.

Professional Development
The most important asset for a school is its teaching force. An investment that the school district can make in a school system is to ensure that teachers are continually learning. As a professional the process of continuous learning is imperative with the changing technology. On my campus the need for professional development that addresses technology is in both district and campus improvement plans. The districts curriculum and instruction department are aware of the advantages for using technology in the instructional settings and have incorporated technology and tools into the current curriculum guides for all grade levels.Learning how to use technology in an effective way that helps enhance education is up to the teachers and one way to do this is to support them with curriculum resources that meet their various needs. It is also a good way to meet diverse needs of classroom learners. Professional development should help deepen and broaden the knowledge of content and will include new ways to teach. This will lead to a higher academic achievement by students therefore increasing scores across the board.
Teachers and staff will be provided with staff developments to learn new technology to enhance teaching practices. They must apply what they have learned with thought out lessons throughout the school year. The increased use of technology will serve as an accelerator for learning in all content areas.Providing students with the different learner experiences through research-based instructional programs will build strong relationships among teachers and students.
OVERALL GOAL: Provide district-wide staff development to ensure efficient and effective use of technologies.
STRATEGIES & NEEDS:
The district will provide educators with the tools to provide instruction using available technologies.
Professional development opportunities will be available to teachers on integrating Technology TEKS into content areas.
Federal, state and local area training opportunities available teachers to attend.
Content related professional development which will include: technology for teachers based on their needs.
PD that is aligned with SBECs technology application standards for teachers and ISTEs standard.
All newly hired teachers and staff will be provided technology professional developments.
Technology will be modeled during campus staff meetings and development.
ACADEMC STUDENT GOAL: Promote integration of technology instruction and curriculum to impact student learning and achievement.
Lead teachers will work to present during PD to promote the integration of technology and literacy to achieve critical thinking skills.
Increased use of library and media resources to expand and enrich the learning opportunities for students.
Continue planning for technology into all Campus and District Improvement Plans.
Usage of electronic instructional resources will be monitored and evaluated.
Assistive technologies and adaptive technologies will be provided for students that require these products.
EVALUATION / ASSESSMENT
Assessment on the effective use of technology in the classroom and the impact it has on student learning is an area of need.Evidence of Completion/Formative Evaluations consisted of classroom observations, lesson plans, sign-in sheets, agendas and monthly discussions at principals meetings (district).None of these are true assessments. The data that is collected does not provide any useful information in determining the needs.
The evaluation of technology use and the district plan should be an on-going systematic process. The technology plan should be evaluated once a year with a review of the plan during mid-year.Adjustments to the plan should be documented at the mid-year review. The individual goals and objectives should be evaluated by technology members during monthly meetings. A thorough evaluation of the data collected will impact the teachers professional development and student learning.Campuses should make sure that teachers complete the STaR Charts and the results should be analyzed to make adjustments to their individual plans. The results should function as areas of need on the Campus Improvement Plans for the upcoming year. This will help to develop a more useful staff development which in turn leads to improved student learning and achievement. The analyzing of the STaR Chart data also aids in determining the progress of the district and states Technology Plan as well.
Forms of evaluation methods include, but are not limited to:
Annual surveys and needs assessment of both instructional and non-instructional staff Annual interview of campus staff
Records of participation such as certificates from trainings, etc.
Survey and feedback to plan for future staff development opportunities
Monitor and document profession ofstaff on using and implementing technologies
Monitor the following: internet usage, digital and on-line resources, student performance of the use of technologies
