What is icEurope about? What is icEurope about?

• foreign language and intercultural learning within a web-enhanced English classroom

• authentic online communication for developing intercultural foreign language skills During the pilot course, 80 teenagers from 4 classes (from Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, and Turkey) worked together online in Moodle.

On the learning platform, the learners engaged in exploring and negotiating intercultural topics and contents with their international peers.

The focus is on their icEnglish: the lingua franca English needed to collaborate and communicate successfully in an intercultural setting.

Project results and the web collaboration method can be transferred to various educational settings and languages.

“e-Learning for Languages” – WiMi study

20

Have you always wanted to blend some e-learning into your foreign language classroom but are unsure as where to start and how to go about it?

What tools and possibilities exist and how to pick the right ones?

And how can e-learning help learners anyway?

The 'e-Learning for Languages' evaluation study carried out by the Applied English Linguistics group at the University of Tübingen seeks to answer these questions.

We invite teachers and secondary schools to participate and try out smaller or larger Moodle-based e-learning units within their foreign language classrooms.

Choose from sample units or adapt them for your needs @ www.wideminds.eu/moodle section “WiMi sample units”

Participation in the 'e-Learning for Languages' evaluation study is free of charge.

If you are interested in participating, please contact us through the participation form: http://www.ael.uni-tuebingen.de/e-learning-for-languages-study/participation-form.html
